The complaint also links the cutoff to Microsoft’s interest in newer devices and AI software. The listing was last retrieved on February 16, 2026, and says a newer docket may exist. It does not establish that mediation concluded, that the case was dismissed, or that Klein won. No later procedural outcome is verified here.
Why the cutoff mattered to Windows 10 users

A 2025 TechSpot report estimated that 240 million devices did not meet Windows 11 hardware requirements. That is a dated estimate, not a court finding or a current verified device count. Separately, CO/AI reported Statcounter figures for July 2025 of 53.39% worldwide desktop share for Windows 11 and 43% for Windows 10. Those are historical market-share figures, not current usage data.
