Windows 10’s KB5051974 update installed the new Outlook for Windows app automatically on supported devices. It was released on February 11, 2025, and Microsoft says it is no longer available through the Microsoft Update Catalog or other release channels as of March 31, 2026—so there is no current official .msu download for this update.

What KB5051974 did—and why Outlook appeared

KB5051974 was Microsoft’s February 11, 2025 security update for Windows 10. Microsoft describes it as addressing Windows operating-system security issues and including quality improvements. Its Outlook change was the automatic installation of the new Outlook for Windows app, not simply the addition of a website shortcut. Microsoft’s deployment guidance says the app was automatically installed with both the January 28, 2025 optional release and the February 11 monthly security release.

Microsoft also says that Windows updates do not install Microsoft Store application updates. That general statement does not negate its separate, specific guidance that the new Outlook app was automatically installed as part of these Windows 10 releases.

Which Windows 10 versions and builds were covered?

Windows edition Build after KB5051974
Windows 10 version 22H2 19045.5487
Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2021 and Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 19044.5487

These are the builds Microsoft lists for the February 11, 2025 release; they identify the update’s historical applicability, not a current download route.

Can you still download the KB5051974 .msu?

No. Microsoft states that KB5051974 has not been available from the Microsoft Update Catalog or other release channels since March 31, 2026. An old Catalog search listing is not evidence that its package can still be downloaded, and this article does not provide a purported direct .msu link.

The historical Catalog results listed two x64 packages for Windows 10 version 22H2:

  • Dynamic Cumulative Update: 659.8 MB.
  • Cumulative Update: 675.9 MB.

Those sizes describe historical Catalog entries only; they do not indicate current availability.
