Not yet—and there is no reliable evidence that it will. Apple has expanded Vision Pro into several Asian markets, but launch availability is not the same as adoption. The strongest negative US signal is a historical IDC estimate, reported by Bloomberg in July 2024, of a 75% quarter-over-quarter drop in US Vision Pro sales for the then-current quarter. No comparable current figures show that Asian sales or active users have overtaken the US, or that Asia has offset American weakness.
What the “flopped in the US” claim actually means
“Flopped” is a characterization, not an Apple-reported result. Bloomberg reported on July 11, 2024, that IDC expected US Vision Pro sales to fall 75% quarter over quarter in the quarter current at that time. That was a market-tracker estimate made in 2024, not an audited Apple figure and not a current comparison between the United States and Asia.
The estimate indicates difficult US momentum, but it does not establish the product’s lifetime sales, user retention, profitability, or regional ranking. A fair assessment must use the same period and measure—shipments, units sold, active users, or another defined metric—in both regions.

These announcements establish distribution, not demand. A country appearing on a product page cannot show whether consumers are buying, using, or replacing the headset at scale.

Price and product changes that shape Asian prospects
Apple announced an M5-chip Vision Pro on October 15, 2025, with a Dual Knit Band and 256GB, 512GB and 1TB storage options. The announced US starting price was US$3,499. Apple listed a starting price of S$4,999 in Singapore. These are official starting prices for the specified markets and product announcement; they should not be treated as a single Asia-wide price because taxes, exchange rates, duties and local pricing differ.
The M5 revision may improve performance and extend the product’s useful life, but the announcement alone does not demonstrate a change in consumer demand. The included Dual Knit Band also means buyers should not assume that component is a separate required purchase.

What would count as an Asian breakthrough?
To say that Vision Pro has “conquered” Asia, analysts would need evidence beyond a wider sales map. The US and Asian markets should be compared over the same period using consistent definitions.
- Units or shipments: independently measured sales, with the period and countries specified.
- Active users: people regularly using the headset, not merely devices shipped to retailers.
- Economic reach: local prices relative to income and purchasing power, rather than converting US$3,499 at an exchange rate.
- Local content: language support, regionally relevant applications and services, and developer availability.
- Access to the product: retail coverage, demonstrations, delivery times, repairs and returns.
- Ownership practicality: comfort, prescription-lens support, battery arrangements, travel and after-sales service.
The available evidence supplies an historical US estimate, official market lists and selected prices. It does not supply a like-for-like Asian-versus-US sales or user dataset.

Why Asia could still matter
Multiple large technology markets
China mainland, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore have sizeable technology audiences and established premium-device channels. Apple’s staged expansion gives the headset more opportunities to reach developers, businesses and affluent early adopters than a US-only launch.
Business use cases
Apple says businesses use Vision Pro in design, education, healthcare and sales. Those are company-described applications, not independent proof of broad commercial deployment. Enterprise pilots could nevertheless matter because a relatively small number of high-value deployments may be more significant than mass consumer sales for an expensive headset.

Local ecosystem requirements
Success depends on more than hardware. Asian users need language-appropriate interfaces and content, local payment and service arrangements, reliable demonstrations, and applications that justify the price. The cited announcements do not quantify how well those conditions are being met.
Why a regional “conquest” is far from established
No comparable adoption numbers
Apple’s announcements say where Vision Pro is offered, not how many units have been sold or how many people remain active users. Without those figures, it is impossible to state that Asia now leads the US or has compensated for US weakness.

High price limits mass-market scale
A US$3,499 starting price—and S$4,999 in Singapore—places Vision Pro in a premium category. Local purchasing power, taxes and financing can materially change affordability. Availability therefore cannot be read as evidence of mainstream penetration.
The US estimate is old and narrow
The 75% figure describes an IDC expectation for one US quarter in 2024. It cannot be used as a current global sales number, and it says nothing directly about Asian sell-through, retention or future growth.
How to judge the claim over the next few years
- Look for independently sourced regional shipments or sell-through, with countries and dates stated.
- Check whether sources measure active users or only units shipped.
- Compare equivalent periods in the US and each Asian market rather than grouping all of Asia into one number.
- Track local pricing, retail demonstrations, repair coverage and language-specific applications.
- Separate enterprise deployments from consumer adoption; a business pilot is not evidence of household-scale demand.
Verdict
Apple has secured official Vision Pro distribution across important Asian markets, and the M5 model keeps the platform active. But the evidence does not show an Asian takeover. The defensible conclusion is that Asia is an unresolved opportunity: potentially important for Apple’s enterprise and premium-device strategy, yet unproven as a consumer success and not demonstrably large enough to offset the US sales slump.
