A 24/7 lofi livestream may have no replay because it ran longer than YouTube’s archive window, or because YouTube restricted or removed it. YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived; a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. That is a possibility, not proof of what happened to your broadcast. Check the stream’s status in YouTube Studio and the email YouTube sent to identify the cause.
First, find out whether the replay is missing, hidden, claimed, or removed
Open YouTube Studio and go to Content, then select the Live tab. Find the broadcast and check its visibility, status, and restriction details. An archive can be made private or deleted there, so a replay that is not publicly visible may not have been taken down by YouTube.
Then check the channel dashboard for copyright strikes and read any email from YouTube about the broadcast. Studio’s restriction details can identify matched material and show whether the outcome involves a claim, muted audio, or blocking in some or all territories. Those details, together with YouTube’s notification, are the best way to distinguish an archive that was never created from a replay that was restricted or formally removed.
Why a 24/7 stream may not have a replay
The broadcast exceeded YouTube’s archive guidance
YouTube Help says it can automatically archive a live stream that is less than 12 hours long. It warns that a stream exceeding 12 hours “may not be captured at all.” A continuous 24/7 broadcast is far beyond that threshold, making archive capture a strong possibility to check first. The warning is not a guarantee that every stream over 12 hours will be lost, nor does it establish the cause in your particular case.

YouTube’s terms describe archiving as an option a creator may be provided, not a promise that every broadcast will become a replay. Viewer guidance likewise says a channel may post a replay or highlights after a stream ends. If keeping a copy matters, YouTube recommends recording a local archive as a backup.
Copyright detection affected the stream or its archive
YouTube scans live streams for third-party material, including other copyrighted live broadcasts. If its systems identify a match, YouTube may show a warning placeholder; if the material remains, it may temporarily interrupt or terminate the stream. If you archive the video, Content ID claims can also arrive after the live broadcast ends. A claim that appears after the stream is over may affect what viewers can watch without meaning the replay was formally removed.

For a lofi radio stream, having obtained or purchased a music license does not by itself establish that every use is covered. The rights must cover the relevant use, including livestreaming and territories. YouTube also says a licensed third-party track may still interrupt a livestream unless the rights owner adds the channel to its Content ID allowlist. Check the affected track, claimant, timestamps, and territories in Studio, and confirm the license terms and allowlisting with the rights holder.
A copyright strike or another policy restriction removed access
A Content ID claim is not the same as a copyright removal request. A valid copyright removal request removes the content and applies a copyright strike; YouTube’s notification explains the claimed material and available options. YouTube describes ways to resolve a strike that can include getting a retraction, completing Copyright School and waiting for expiry where applicable, or submitting a counter notification if you believe the removal was mistaken or a copyright exception applies. A counter notification is a legal process, not a routine way to clear an ordinary Content ID claim.

Other restrictions can also affect a stream, including Community Guidelines enforcement, specified age or content restrictions, or a match to another copyrighted live broadcast. Do not infer which one applies simply because the stream ran continuously: use the notice and Studio status to identify it.
What to do now
- Check the archive in Studio. Go to YouTube Studio > Content > Live, select the broadcast, and review its visibility, status, and restrictions. Confirm whether it is private or otherwise unavailable, rather than assuming it was removed.
- Read the restriction details. If Studio identifies copyrighted material, note the track, claimant, timestamps, and territories. Check whether the outcome is a Content ID claim, muted audio, regional or worldwide blocking, or something else.
- Review YouTube’s email and your channel dashboard. Look for a copyright removal notice or another enforcement notice, and check for active copyright strikes. Follow the process that matches the notice; do not treat a claim as a strike or file a legal counter notification without a good-faith basis.
- Check music permissions for future broadcasts. Verify that each license covers livestream use and the intended territories. If the music is licensed but triggers Content ID, ask the rights owner whether your channel needs to be added to its allowlist.
- Keep your own recording. Record a local archive if you need a copy, as YouTube recommends. This preserves a separate recording; it does not reverse a platform restriction or guarantee that YouTube will create a replay.
How to reduce the chance of losing the next replay
If retaining individual archives matters, consider ending and restarting the broadcast before it reaches 12 hours, while also recording locally. This is a practical response to YouTube’s duration warning, not a guarantee that shorter segments will always archive successfully. A local recording is the more direct backup because it does not depend on YouTube capturing the replay.

Before going live, check rights for every track and confirm that the license covers the intended livestream use and territories. If Content ID enforcement is expected for licensed music, resolve allowlisting with the rights owner in advance; a license and Content ID allowlisting are separate checks.
Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is to keep pre-recorded lofi videos looping on YouTube without leaving a computer running at home, StreamNeo is a cloud option. Upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. StreamNeo loops uploaded videos; it does not broadcast from a camera.
