If your F1 live stream is blocked, the cause is often territorial broadcasting rights—not a broken account or device. F1 TV availability and live content vary by country, and access can depend both on the country tied to your subscription and where you are watching from. Check F1’s country availability information and official broadcaster directory first; then verify your plan and troubleshoot your device or connection.
Why is my F1 stream blocked in my country?
Formula 1’s broadcast rights are not the same everywhere. F1 TV’s subscription terms say that services, content, and features vary by territory, and that digital content may be unavailable for legal or contractual reasons. A valid subscription therefore does not guarantee that F1 TV can show a live session in every country.

At sign-up, F1 TV verifies the country where the subscriber is habitually resident as the account’s “Home Territory.” The plan’s live coverage and the rights in the country where you are watching can both affect access. For the applicable rules, see the F1 TV Subscription Terms, last updated August 2025.
How to find where F1 live coverage is available
- Check your country in F1’s official directory. Use Formula 1’s broadcast directory to identify services listed for your location. It is a territory-level guide; live coverage and features are also available through F1 TV in many territories, not all of them.
- Confirm what your plan includes. Check whether your F1 TV subscription tier includes live coverage in the account’s Home Territory. Plan availability and included content can differ by country.
- Check the local rights-holder. If the directory lists a local broadcaster rather than F1 TV for live coverage, use that licensed service’s current information to confirm its package and session coverage.
Why F1 TV may stop working while you are travelling
Travel access is not worldwide access. F1’s terms provide for access to home-territory content while travelling within EU member states and other territories covered by the EU Portability Regulation 2017/1128, subject to restrictions in the country visited. Outside those portability territories, access is subject to rights restrictions where you are trying to use the service.

Check the terms and the destination country’s listing in Formula 1’s broadcaster directory before travelling. If F1 TV cannot provide the live feed there, the directory can help you identify the local rights-holder.
What to do if your country and plan should allow the stream
Once you have confirmed that F1 TV offers the event under your plan in the relevant territory, check for a technical problem. F1 says geographic availability, bandwidth, and internet speed can affect service access or streaming quality. Review its current availability information and supported-device guidance, then work through these checks:

- Confirm you are signed in to the correct account and that the subscription is active.
- Install the latest available version of the F1 TV app or update your browser.
- Check that your device appears on F1’s current supported-device list and meets its internet requirements.
- Test your connection and try again on a stable network. If playback fails across supported devices, contact F1 TV support with your location, device, and the error message.
Can a VPN or location change unblock F1 TV?
Do not use location masking to get around a restriction. F1 TV’s terms prohibit using technology or tools to alter, mask, or disguise your access location to circumvent restrictions (clause 9.2(g), last updated August 2025). Use the country directory, check your Home Territory and plan, or watch through the local licensed broadcaster instead.
Watching on a television: device support does not change rights
F1’s watch page lists web, iOS, Android, Amazon Fire, Roku, and Chromecast as viewing options. It also says F1 TV Premium features are not yet available on Amazon Fire TV. A compatible Amazon Fire TV streaming device may provide a big-screen playback option where you are eligible to watch, but buying or changing devices cannot change territorial rights or subscription eligibility. Check the current F1 TV device and availability information before choosing a setup.

Broadcaster arrangements are country-specific. On 8 September 2026, Formula 1 announced that DAZN will continue broadcasting F1 in Spain, Andorra, and Portugal through 2030, with live and on-demand coverage of practice, qualifying, Sprint, and Grand Prix sessions. This applies to those territories; it does not establish which service carries F1 in other countries. Check the official directory for your location.
