Why a WNBA game is blacked out
Local and national broadcasters hold exclusive rights to show certain WNBA games live. League Pass is subject to those rights, so subscribing does not guarantee access to every live game. A blackout is different from an app, account, or network playback error. If the message appears for a particular game, check its broadcast rights before treating it as a technical fault.
Which games may be blacked out
United States: national broadcasts
The WNBA Help Center’s article, updated August 12, 2026, lists live national telecasts on ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, Disney+, CBS, Paramount+, NBC, Peacock, USA Network, and Amazon Prime Video as unavailable on League Pass in the United States. The WNBA says this list may change, so confirm the current listing for the game you want.

United States: local broadcasts
Games shown locally for your WNBA team or teams are unavailable live on League Pass in that market. The applicable market is based on your location, not simply the location where you bought a subscription.
Canada
The WNBA lists national telecasts on TSN, SN, CTV, and CTV2 as unavailable live on League Pass in Canada. The relevant broadcaster and restrictions can vary by game.
Some special events
The WNBA’s blackout guidance says the All-Star Friday Night event, All-Star Game, and Commissioner’s Cup championship game are not available live on League Pass in the United States or Canada; they become available on demand after they conclude. Check the current event listing, since rights and availability can change.
How to find the authorized live broadcast
- Identify the exact game and date. Note your country and, if you are in the United States, your ZIP code.
- Check the current WNBA schedule. Look for the broadcaster listed for that matchup and your market. Listings can change, so use the current schedule rather than an old channel list.
- Confirm your League Pass market. The League Pass page provides a U.S. ZIP-code lookup for games available in your area. Check the games you care about before subscribing.
- Open the listed authorized service. Depending on the game, that may be a local station, regional sports network, or national distributor. A subscription to one service does not necessarily cover other games.
When League Pass replays become available
If you cannot watch live, the replay window depends on the type of blackout. The WNBA says a U.S. nationally blacked-out game becomes available on League Pass at 6 a.m. Eastern Time the following day. A locally televised game in the United States becomes available shortly after it ends. In Canada, a game blacked out because of a national provider becomes available shortly after the game ends. If the blackout result seems wrong
The WNBA uses IP address or device location services to determine location. If the result appears inconsistent with where you are, check that your device’s location setting is enabled if you use it, and that your network reports your current location. These checks can help explain a market mismatch; they do not remove a rights-based blackout that applies to your location.
Do not use a VPN or another method to try to bypass a restriction. The League Pass subscriber agreement prohibits circumventing or attempting to circumvent restrictions and says consequences may include immediate termination, a $100 early-termination charge, and possible legal action. Watching League Pass on a television
The WNBA says League Pass purchases are available on the web, in the mobile app, Apple TV, Android TV, Amazon Fire TV, and Roku.
