Prime includes Amazon Music Prime, but it does not include Amazon Music Unlimited. If you see a separate Amazon Music charge, your account likely has an Unlimited subscription or another separately billed plan. Check the plan, renewal date, and billing channel in your account before deciding what to do.
What Amazon Music do you get with Prime?
Amazon Music Prime is included with Prime membership at no additional music-subscription fee. Amazon’s US Music FAQ describes it as access to 100 million songs, ad-free top podcasts, and playlists and stations. The broad song catalog is generally played on shuffle: you can shuffle artists, albums, or playlists. A curated selection of All-Access Playlists is an exception, with on-demand playback and no skip limits.
Prime listening is not the same as unrestricted on-demand access to every song. Amazon’s general Prime benefits page gives a shorter summary, while the Music FAQ explains the All-Access Playlist exception.
What does Amazon Music Unlimited add?
Unlimited is an optional, separately paid subscription. Amazon describes it as including Prime’s features plus broader on-demand playback across its catalog, selected lossless HD and Ultra HD audio, spatial audio, and wider offline-download access. Amazon’s download help page says Unlimited subscribers can download songs, albums, and playlists; Prime members can download only All-Access Playlists. Downloads remain inside the Amazon Music app and are not ordinary audio files that you can export.

Why might Amazon be charging you?
A Prime membership fee and an Amazon Music Unlimited fee are separate charges. Prime includes Music Prime, not Unlimited. A recurring music charge therefore commonly reflects an active Unlimited subscription or another separately billed plan; the charge alone does not establish whether it was intentional or unauthorized.
Amazon’s US pages show different Unlimited prices. Its current Unlimited offer page displays $11.99 per month for Prime members after the promotional period and $12.99 per month for non-Prime members. The offer renews automatically until canceled, and eligibility and terms apply. However, Amazon’s Music FAQ still lists $10.99 per month for Prime members and $11.99 for non-Prime members, alongside a 2025 pricing-change notice. These published figures do not establish the rate for every existing account. Treat the offer page as a displayed offer, not a guarantee of your own renewal price.

How to check your plan and manage the charge
- Open Your Amazon Music Settings while signed in to the Amazon account that is being billed.
- Review the active plan, renewal date, and payment details. Confirm whether the subscription is Unlimited and compare its renewal amount with the charge you see.
- If Amazon bills the subscription, use the settings page to manage the plan or cancel it. Amazon’s subscription help directs customers to Your Amazon Music Settings for subscription management and payment changes.
- If you bought the subscription through Apple iTunes, manage or cancel it through Apple’s website or your iOS device settings, rather than Amazon’s billing controls.
Check the subscription detail before assuming that the Prime charge and music charge are duplicates. The price pages are inconsistent, so the renewal amount shown for your account is the useful figure for your decision.

If shuffle playback works for you and you mainly listen to selected All-Access Playlists offline, Prime’s included Music Prime benefit may be enough. Unlimited is the relevant paid option if you want broader on-demand playback, downloads of individual songs or albums in the app, or its additional audio formats. Compare those features with the renewal price shown on your account; availability and pricing outside the United States are not established here.
