Hanuman Ansh producer Anupriya Nagar says the sequel’s budget should be similar to the first film’s unless the next story genuinely needs more. Her point is that a larger spend—she cited ₹10 crore or ₹20 crore as examples—would not automatically improve the film and could lead to unnecessary visual effects or AI that undermine the period world’s authenticity. The sequel’s budget has not been reported as final.

Why Nagar says a bigger budget is not the goal

Nagar’s stated priority is recreating the historical setting convincingly, rather than increasing the spend because the first film performed well. As quoted by Hindustan Times, she said the landscape, visual texture, atmosphere and world of the period matter alongside the characters. She argued that extra money could go toward VFX or AI the story does not need, potentially weakening that authenticity.

That does not mean Nagar has ruled out a larger budget. Her condition is that the next story must genuinely require more resources. In her account, the creative demands of the sequel—not the first film’s commercial result alone—should determine whether its budget rises. Hindustan Times and India Today both report this explanation and attribute Nagar’s remarks to an interview with Dainik Bhaskar.

What is known about the first film’s budget and performance

Hindustan Times and India Today each report that the first Hanuman Ansh had a ₹2 crore budget and opened with ₹10 lakh on its first day. Hindustan Times reports collections of ₹414 crore worldwide and more than ₹300 crore net in India, as well as a theatrical run exceeding 50 days. These are figures reported by the outlets, not independently audited figures established here.

Hindustan Times describes the film as a biographical story about Neem Karoli Baba, following Lakshmi Narayan’s early life and transformation. The outlet and India Today credit Vishal Chaturvedi as director and name Shobhinaw Satyaa and Chandan Anand among the leads.

What has—and has not—been announced about the sequel

Hindustan Times reports that a sequel has been announced, but the reports do not establish its final budget, production schedule or release date. Nagar’s comments describe her preferred approach, not a confirmed production-accounting figure. Her ₹10 crore and ₹20 crore examples illustrate why she does not regard a bigger spend as automatically better; they are not confirmed sequel-budget proposals.

Rank #2

Hindustan Times also reports that Sony Entertainment Television and SonyLIV announced a Neem Karoli Baba series. At the time of that report, the series had no announced cast, premiere date or episode count. The report does not establish that the series is connected to the Hanuman Ansh sequel.
