Ben Falik says he built KozVault to address a problem he sees in conventional secret managers: they can store passwords and other sensitive information, but do not necessarily help people arrange access to it if they become unable to explain or retrieve it. His proposed answer is a privacy-focused secret manager with scheduled delivery of messages and files—a digital-legacy feature he calls a digital will or time capsule.
What KozVault is meant to do
In a DEV Community post, Falik identifies himself as an independent developer and describes KozVault as an online secret manager with a zero-knowledge design. The product is software, not a physical vault or a legally established will. Its stated purpose is to keep secrets available to their owner while also letting the owner arrange for selected content to be released later.
Falik’s motivating concern is practical: accounts, crypto wallets, documents, and personal messages may become inaccessible or difficult to explain when someone is no longer able to manage them. KozVault’s scheduled-release idea is intended to address that digital-legacy gap, rather than replace ordinary password storage.
How the creator describes its security and operation
Falik says the master secret stays on the user’s device and that the server receives only encrypted blobs. He writes, “The server only ever sees encrypted blobs.” That is the creator’s description of the design, not an independently verified security finding.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
The post also claims KozVault uses HMAC-SHA256 authentication in under 1 ms, does not transmit the master key, and is an offline-first progressive web app (PWA). These are implementation and performance claims made by Falik. No independent code review, security audit, or benchmark is established by the available evidence, so the claims should not be treated as third-party validation.
More generally, a zero-knowledge claim depends on how encryption and authentication are implemented, what information remains visible as metadata, and how the software reaches a user’s device. Will.com’s security documentation discusses those kinds of considerations for its own browser-side encryption design, including browser-delivered code and compromised devices; it does not verify KozVault or establish that KozVault uses the same protections. - SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
What makes the digital-will feature different
The distinguishing idea in Falik’s post is programmable future access. He describes users arranging for voice messages, video messages, or files to be released on chosen dates or to chosen people. That changes the emphasis from simply keeping secrets to preparing a controlled handoff of information.

It describes a software feature for scheduled delivery of encrypted content. Anyone making legal or financial plans should not assume that such a feature substitutes for formal estate documents or institution-specific inheritance procedures.

What is known about access and availability
Falik describes KozVault as offline-first and says the free tier is live and fully functional. However, the product page linked from the post could not be accessed to confirm current availability, terms, or exactly which features are included. Treat those points as the creator’s report, not a current service guarantee.
The post’s indexed listing says it was posted on Sep 8, but the year is not confirmed. Its requests for feedback are direct: “Is the onboarding clear?”, “Are there any red flags in the security approach?”, and “What features would you add?”

What to check before trusting a digital vault
- Security evidence: Look for a published audit or independent technical review, including its scope and date. The available information does not establish one for KozVault.
- Recovery and continuity: Understand what happens if you lose your device or master secret, and how a designated recipient is meant to access a scheduled release.
- Delivery conditions: Confirm what event or date triggers release, what recipients need, and whether the service must remain available for delivery to happen.
- Legal boundaries: Treat scheduled file or message delivery as a digital handoff feature, not proof of legal authority over accounts, money, or property.
- Current terms: Verify availability, free-tier limits, and data-handling terms directly with the service before placing sensitive information in it.
Why the project matters—and what remains unproven
KozVault’s motivating problem is recognizable: a password manager can help someone organize secrets, while a digital-legacy tool aims to make selected information reachable by others later. Falik’s concept combines those goals through scheduled access, with privacy and offline operation presented as design priorities.
Quick wins for a faster PC:

The claims about on-device master-secret handling, encrypted server storage, authentication speed, offline behavior, and a live free tier come from Falik’s post. Without independently established verification and confirmed current service details, readers should evaluate KozVault as a creator-described product and not rely on it as their sole estate or account-recovery plan.
