A PlayStation Plus Extra game may be missing because it has left the rotating Game Catalog, is unavailable in your account’s region, belongs to a different benefit or tier, or cannot be downloaded on your console. Start by checking the Game Catalog on your own console and the game’s platform listing. If a game is already installed but has become unplayable, check membership validation separately.
Check the right PlayStation Plus section
Extra includes the Game Catalog, but PlayStation Plus benefits are split across different sections. A Monthly Game, a Classics Catalog title, or a game trial is not necessarily part of the Extra Game Catalog or eligible under the same plan.
- On PS5: Open Games > PlayStation Plus > Benefits > Game Catalog.
- On PS4: Open PlayStation Plus > Game Catalog.
- If you previously downloaded the game: Check Game Library as well as the catalog.
PlayStation’s catalog access guide explains how to find the catalog on PS5 and PS4 and notes that access depends on the applicable plan. A game shown in a different PlayStation Plus benefit is not proof that it is currently in Extra’s catalog.
Check availability for your account’s region
PlayStation Plus Game Catalog availability varies by country or region. PlayStation directs subscribers to the PlayStation Plus hub on their console for the full list available in their country or region. A game appearing on a list or page for another region does not establish that it is available to your account.

Use the local console catalog as the deciding check. PlayStation’s US live catalog page also flags regional variation and advises checking the console hub.
See whether the game has left the catalog
Extra’s catalog rotates: a title can have an end date and be removed from PlayStation Plus. Once it leaves, it is no longer available through the catalog benefit. Check the game’s current listing in your local console hub and look for any announced leaving date; catalog lineups change over time.

If the game is no longer included, check your local PlayStation Store to see whether it is offered for separate purchase. The fact that a game has left Extra does not establish that upgrading to Premium will restore catalog access.
Confirm that your console supports the game
Check the game’s platform listing before troubleshooting a download. PlayStation’s US PlayStation Plus FAQ says PS5 games can only be downloaded to a PS5 console. A PS5-only title therefore will not download to a PS4, even if you found it listed among PlayStation Plus games.

If an installed game suddenly stops working, check PSN validation
This is a different problem from a title missing in the catalog. PlayStation’s May 23, 2022 PlayStation Plus service guide says a downloaded Extra or Premium Game Catalog game needs a PSN connection every seven days to validate membership and maintain access. If an installed catalog game has become inaccessible, reconnect the console to PSN and check that the membership is active. This guidance concerns validating access to a downloaded game, not whether the game appears in the catalog.

- The exact game and edition you are looking for.
- Your account’s country or region.
- Your console model: PS4 or PS5.
- Your active PlayStation Plus tier.
- Whether the game is absent from the catalog, missing from your library, or installed but will not launch.
- The exact on-screen message or error code, if one appears.
Those details distinguish a catalog or compatibility issue from a membership-validation problem and give support the information needed to investigate the account-specific case.
