If a Fortnite skin you bought is missing, first check that you’re signed into the Epic account that received the purchase, then check Locker filters and Archived items. If it still isn’t there, look for a refund or payment-reversal notice and check the purchase record through the storefront that processed the transaction. The right fix depends on which of those cases applies.

1. Make sure you’re using the Epic account that owns the skin

Check the email address on the Epic account currently signed in and compare it with the address that received the purchase receipt. If you use more than one Epic account, the skin may belong to a different one. Epic says items stay on the account where they were purchased, earned, or claimed; they cannot be manually transferred between Epic accounts. See Epic’s guidance for a missing Fortnite Locker item and its account-transfer information.

2. Check Locker filters and Archived items

Open the Locker and select the appropriate cosmetic category. Clear any active sorting or filters, then check the Archived view. An archived item is hidden from the ordinary Locker list; that alone does not mean the item was removed from your account. Epic’s missing-item instructions cover these visibility checks.

3. Look for a refund or payment-reversal notice

Epic identifies refunds and payment reversals—including chargebacks—as reasons a purchased item may be removed. A reversal involving the person who sent a gift can also affect the item. If Epic removed the skin after a refund or reversal, Epic states that Player Support cannot restore it: Why was my Fortnite item removed?

Fortnite eGift Card
  • Redeemable on accounts in the United States and in U.S. Dollars.
  • Gift card must be redeemed at EpicGames.com/redeem. This gift card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly on a console device (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, etc.)
  • If you play Fortnite experiences on a console device, you need to link your Epic Games account to your console account(s) so items purchased at Fortnite.com/item-shop appear across all of your linked accounts
  • Requires internet connection, valid Epic account and prior acceptance of the terms
  • Redemption: Online

4. Check the purchase record where you paid

Choose the record that matches the storefront used for the transaction. A console purchase may not appear in Epic Games Store transaction history; check the console storefront’s account and purchase records instead. Epic’s instructions explain how to check Fortnite purchases and where to find Epic Games Store receipts.

For Fortnite cosmetics, the in-game Return or Cancel Purchase area shows only the last 30 days of cosmetic purchase history. If the purchase is older, use the relevant storefront’s records rather than treating its absence from that view as proof you never bought it. See Epic’s return and cancellation guidance.

5. If it was a console purchase, allow time for processing

Epic’s console troubleshooting guidance says to confirm you are using the correct Epic account, check the device’s date and time, and wait up to two hours for a purchase to appear. If it remains unavailable after that, contact support for the platform storefront that handled the purchase. Follow Epic’s console-purchase troubleshooting steps.

6. Contact the support team for the purchase channel

If an Epic Games Store receipt or transaction record confirms the order but its content is missing, submit an Epic support request with the order number and the missing content’s name. For a console-storefront transaction, use that platform’s support route instead. Epic’s Player Support contact guidance explains how to submit a request.
