Your Google Workspace administrator is someone in the organization that provided or manages your work or school account. Start by checking which account you’re using, then ask the person who issued it, your IT team or help desk, or—at a small organization—the person who manages its email or website. Google does not identify an organization’s specific administrator for individual users.
First, confirm you’re using your organization’s account
Check the email address shown in the Google service where you need help. A work or school Google Account is set up through an organization and often uses its domain, such as name@company.com, rather than ending in @gmail.com. If you have both a personal and an organizational account, make sure you’re signed in to the one your employer, school, club, or business provided. The accounts can have different settings and access to Google products. Google explains the difference between personal and work or school accounts, and notes that an organization may manage which products users can access and how they work.
Who should you ask?
The administrator is part of your organization, so begin with the people who set up or support your account. Google Workspace Admin Community guidance suggests these practical starting points; it is community guidance, not a way for Google to identify the person for you.

The person who issued your username may be the administrator or know how to reach them.
- Your organization’s IT team or help desk: At a larger workplace or school, submit a support request or use the internal contact details for account help.
- The person managing email or the website: In a small business, club, or school without a visible IT team, ask whoever manages the organization’s email service or website. Google Workspace Admin Community guidance lists these as likely contacts.
Why you can’t look up the administrator in the Admin console
The Google Admin console is for administrators, not an end-user directory. Access requires an administrator account. If you cannot sign in to the console with administrator credentials, ask someone in your organization who has that access for help. Google’s Admin console sign-in instructions explain who can sign in.

When can you contact Google Workspace support?
Google’s Workspace support instructions are directed to administrators. To contact support through the Admin console, an account must have the Support administrator privilege, and available support options depend on the organization’s subscription. If you are a regular user, contact your organization’s administrator or help desk first. Google Workspace Admin Help explains how administrators contact support.

Owning a business or its domain does not, by itself, give you a working administrator login. The Admin console requires administrator credentials, and the support route through it requires the Support administrator privilege. Use Google’s current official administrator account recovery guidance for the next steps; recovery options and outcomes depend on the circumstances, so do not assume that ownership alone guarantees access or a particular timeline. Google’s administrator account recovery guidance is the appropriate starting point.
