No service in the available documentation is confirmed to carry subtitles from prerecorded videos into a continuous YouTube live stream. Gyre is the clearest documented option for 24/7 looping of prerecorded YouTube videos, but its reviewed documentation does not confirm support for external subtitle files or preservation of embedded subtitle tracks. If selectable YouTube captions are essential, verify the caption path with the provider or test it before subscribing.
What “supports subtitles” can mean
There are two different outcomes viewers may call subtitles:
- Selectable captions: a caption track viewers can turn on or off in YouTube’s player. This is often called closed captions or CC.
- Burned-in subtitles: text permanently composited into the video image. Viewers cannot toggle it off, and it travels as part of the picture.
A streaming service may be able to loop a video without passing through its selectable caption track. Conversely, text burned into the picture remains visible as part of the video image, but is not a YouTube caption track. The reviewed service documentation does not settle either form of subtitle handling for Gyre’s continuous-loop workflow.

These options do not amount to a confirmed subtitle-compatible 24/7 service. The key distinction is between documented continuous looping and documented caption handling.

Best documented fit for continuous prerecorded looping: Gyre, with a subtitle caveat
YouTube’s verified encoder directory is strong evidence that Gyre is intended for continuous prerecorded YouTube streaming. Gyre’s described workflow also covers the basic loop: upload media, create a playlist, connect YouTube, then run the playlist continuously. Neither source establishes that Gyre carries a selectable subtitle track. Ask Gyre directly about embedded tracks and sidecar caption files before relying on it for captions.

YouTube captions behave differently on uploads and live streams
Uploaded videos
YouTube can generate automatic captions for uploaded long-form videos and Shorts in supported languages. They may take time to appear and can contain recognition errors, so review and edit them in YouTube Studio. For a timed caption file, YouTube Studio also supports uploading a subtitle/caption file; creators can instead auto-sync a transcript or enter captions manually. These are caption tools for an uploaded video, and their existence does not show that a third-party continuous-stream service will transmit that track during a live broadcast.
Live streams
YouTube’s Help Center documents automatic captions for eligible individual live streams as English-only, with availability rolling out to English channels and normal latency required. They are distinct from captions attached to the source upload. YouTube states: “After the live stream ends, live automatic captions won’t remain on the video.” It generates a separate caption track for the resulting video-on-demand through its VOD process.

How to verify caption support before committing
- Decide which result you need. If viewers must toggle captions in YouTube, ask about selectable caption tracks. If subtitles only need to appear visually, use a source video with subtitles burned into its picture.
- Ask the provider precise questions. Does the service preserve an embedded subtitle stream? Does it accept an external timed caption file, and which formats? Do either of those reach YouTube as viewer-selectable captions during a continuous stream?
- Check what happens to the archive. Ask whether captions remain on the resulting YouTube VOD after the stream ends, or whether you must add or generate a separate track in YouTube Studio.
- Run a short test if the answer is unclear. Use one source file with a known embedded subtitle track and, if supported, a separate timed caption file. Inspect the live player’s CC menu, then inspect the archived video after the test stream ends. A visible subtitle track in the source file alone is not proof that it reached YouTube.
