Ultimate Farmer is the strongest all-around class for a typical Search for the Needle run, according to the reviewed class guides: it reportedly combines the other classes’ bonuses and can activate Golden Harvest. But its reported roll chance is just 0.1%, so a specialist may be the better practical choice if you are stuck on one part of the run. Treat this as an editorial ranking, not an official in-game tier list, and check the current Classes menu before spending Gems.
How this Search for the Needle tier list ranks classes
Search for the Needle’s core loop is to clear hay, collect and sell it, buy upgrades, and find the hidden needle. Classes provide passive bonuses that affect parts of that process. This ranking prioritizes clearing speed and tool efficiency for a general-purpose haystack run; carrying capacity, sale income, automation, and Diamond gathering matter more when one of those is your bottleneck.
The rankings are editorial judgments based on class effects reported by Beebom and Bloxodes in 2026, not official developer ratings or independent performance tests. The guides do not show a fully consistent roster: Beebom lists eight classes, while Games.gg also includes The Chosen One and Hoover. Check the live in-game class menu for the current roster and perks.
Best classes, ranked by role
| Tier | Class | Reported effect and best fit |
|---|---|---|
| S | Ultimate Farmer | Beebom says it combines every other class’s bonuses and can activate Golden Harvest. Best broad choice for general progression, but the guide reports only a 0.1% roll chance. |
| A | Demolitionist | Beebom reports a 20% larger Dynamite blast radius and a 10% chance for an explosion to split into three mini charges. A strong fit if Dynamite is central to your clearing route. |
| A | Drone Specialist | Beebom reports a free Drone, 30% faster flight, 40% more carrying capacity, and occasional three-Drone swarms. Choose it when collecting or moving hay is slowing you down. |
| A | Forkmaster | Beebom reports 25% more hay per Pitchfork swing and 25% lower Pitchfork upgrade costs. It suits a run built around using and upgrading the Pitchfork. |
| B | Pack Mule | Beebom reports 50% more bag capacity. Useful when frequent trips to sell hay interrupt progress, particularly earlier in a run. |
| B | Hay Merchant | Beebom reports 20% more money from selling hay. It helps when upgrade cash is the obstacle, but does not directly improve clearing speed. |
| C | Prospector | Beebom reports Diamonds appear 50% more often and hay can transform into Diamonds. This favors resource gathering over fast hay removal. |
| D | Starter | Beebom describes this as the default class with no bonuses. It is a straightforward baseline while learning the game’s loop. |
These perk figures are values reported by Beebom in 2026, not independently verified test results. Games.gg reports two additional classes: The Chosen One, which it describes as an all-in-one class with extra bonuses, and Hoover, which improves the Hay Vacuum. Its expanded roster is not reconciled with Beebom’s list, so do not assume either guide’s list is the definitive current lineup.

Choose by the part of your run that feels slow
- Hay takes too long to clear: Try Demolitionist if you rely on Dynamite, or Forkmaster if the Pitchfork is your main tool.
- Collection and transport are the drag: Drone Specialist adds automation and carrying capacity; Pack Mule increases bag capacity.
- You need money for upgrades: Hay Merchant increases sale income according to Beebom, though it does not make hay removal faster.
- You are gathering Diamonds: Prospector is the focused option in Beebom’s list.
- You want one class for varied tasks: Ultimate Farmer is the broad recommendation, if you happen to roll it.
How to unlock and equip classes
The guides describe a Classes station or booth in the lobby, where players spend Gems on random class rolls. Beebom and Games.gg both report a cost of 40 Gems per spin in 2026; Games.gg says a rolled class can be re-equipped without another payment. These are guide-reported details, not an official price guarantee, so confirm the cost and equip options in the live interface before spending. Bloxodes likewise advises checking the current class preview because Roblox updates can change class effects.
Beebom’s 2026 guide reports these roll chances for its listed classes: Ultimate Farmer 0.1%, Demolitionist 7%, Drone Specialist 1%, Forkmaster 9%, Pack Mule 25%, Hay Merchant 14%, Prospector 3.9%, and Starter 40%. Those chances describe the guide’s reported roll table; they are not evidence that a particular number of spins will produce a chosen class.

It also attributes to The Chosen One a 25% sell-cash bonus, 25% cheaper upgrades, a 25% pet boost, and a 10% nearby team sell-value aura. Because that guide reports classes absent from Beebom’s list, treat those details as belonging to Games.gg’s reported roster rather than combining both lists into one confirmed table.

Not necessarily. Ultimate Farmer is the broadest recommendation in Beebom’s ranking, but the reported 0.1% chance makes it a rare outcome, and a specialized class can address a current bottleneck directly. If Dynamite, the Pitchfork, carrying, sales, or Diamond gathering is the issue, choose a class whose reported perk matches it rather than treating rarity as proof of usefulness. Verify the current class preview and spin cost before committing Gems.
