Selected Samsung TVs support AirPlay 2, but not every Samsung TV does. Samsung’s support lists cover certain model families beginning in 2018, and the lists vary by country. Before buying, check the full model code against Samsung’s support page for the market where the TV is sold, then look for Apple AirPlay in the TV’s settings.
Which Samsung TVs support AirPlay 2?
Samsung’s compatibility information is organized by model year and product family. Its UK support page lists selected TVs and monitors from 2018 through 2021; Singapore and Germany publish lists that extend to later years. These are regional lists, not one universal catalogue of guaranteed compatible model codes.

Samsung Singapore’s list includes selected 2022 and 2023 families, including Neo QLED, QLED, OLED and lifestyle models. Samsung Germany also lists selected 2022 and 2023 QLED/Neo QLED, OLED, CU, BU and lifestyle models. Coverage can differ by region and series; use the Samsung UK compatibility list, Samsung Singapore support page, or Samsung Germany compatibility information as appropriate for the country of sale.
Samsung announced in 2019 that all of its 2019 Smart TVs and select 2018 models would receive AirPlay 2; the 2018 sets required a firmware update at the time. Samsung reported launch availability in 176 countries in 2019. That is a historical launch figure, not a current guarantee of availability in every market. (Samsung’s 2019 announcement)

How to check a TV before buying
- Find the exact model code. Check the complete code on the retailer listing or product label—not just the series name or model year. Match it to Samsung support information for the country where the TV is sold. Regional lists show why a broad family name may not settle compatibility. - Look for AirPlay in the TV menu. On a set you can inspect, open Settings or All Settings, then General (or Connection on some 2022–2023 models), and Apple AirPlay Settings. Labels can vary with model and software. Samsung’s UK support article says: “If there is no option for AirPlay, then your device is not supported.” (Samsung UK support; Samsung Singapore instructions)
- Confirm the exact task you want to do. Samsung describes AirPlay 2 for sending photos, videos, music and other content from Apple devices. Its U.S. instructions describe screen mirroring from iOS through Control Center. Check the app and device workflow you plan to use rather than assuming every app works identically. - Check any feature-specific caveat. Samsung Germany says Multiview screen mirroring on 2020 TVs is available only from Q70T upward. Samsung Singapore says Evolution Kits do not add AirPlay 2 or Apple TV functionality. (Germany support; Singapore support)
What AirPlay does—and what it does not prove
AirPlay 2 lets you send supported content from Apple devices to a compatible TV. For iOS screen mirroring, Samsung’s U.S. instructions give this route:
- Open Control Center on the iPhone or iPad.
- Tap Screen Mirroring.
- Select the Samsung TV.
- Enter the code shown on the TV if prompted.
Samsung Singapore’s instructions also describe TV controls for turning AirPlay on or off, requiring a connection code on the first connection or every connection, resetting paired devices, and adjusting subtitle and caption settings. If a supported TV does not appear as a destination, confirm that AirPlay is enabled in the TV menu and follow the connection steps for your Apple device. (Samsung Singapore AirPlay instructions)

Do not treat the Apple TV app as proof of AirPlay compatibility. Samsung handles the app as a separate TV feature, and its troubleshooting page lists historical firmware minimums for selected models. Software requirements and older TVs
Samsung Australia’s 2019 launch announcement cited iOS 12.2 or later and macOS 10.14.4 or later for AirPlay 2 at that time. Treat those as historical launch requirements, not a complete current compatibility matrix: the reviewed Samsung support pages do not establish current minimum operating-system versions for every Apple device and TV combination. For a used or older set, check its software and AirPlay menu rather than assuming a firmware update is still available or that the feature was preinstalled. Samsung’s 2019 announcement said select 2018 models received AirPlay 2 through a firmware update. (Samsung’s 2019 announcement)

How to compare two candidate Samsung TVs
- Compare the full regional model codes against the applicable Samsung support page.
- Use model year and product family as a screening aid, not a substitute for checking the exact code.
- Confirm the Apple device and feature you intend to use—content streaming, screen mirroring, or a specific Multiview setup.
- Compare picture quality, price, availability and other buying criteria separately; AirPlay compatibility alone does not establish a TV’s value or performance.
