The right Klaviyo alternative depends on what you need it to do: run ecommerce automations, send high volumes of email, support a CRM, or keep marketing simple. Compare tools against your contact count, monthly send volume, required channels, store data, and the workflows your team must maintain—not a single “best” ranking.
How to choose a Klaviyo alternative
Start with the jobs your current platform performs, then check whether a candidate can reproduce them using your store’s data. Email platforms commonly support subscriber lists, segmentation, campaigns, and performance tracking, but their pricing models and depth of ecommerce functionality differ. Shopify’s guide likewise says there is no single best email marketing tool for every business; fit depends on list size, existing software, budget, and essential features (Shopify’s guide).
Build a workflow and data checklist
- Store connection: Confirm the integration for your ecommerce platform and whether it exposes the product, order, and customer behavior data needed for segments and triggers.
- Automations: List the welcome, abandoned-cart, post-purchase, winback, loyalty, and back-in-stock flows you rely on. Shopify identifies welcome, abandoned-cart, loyalty-reminder, and back-in-stock messages as common ecommerce automations.
- Channels: Mark which journeys require email only, SMS, or web push. Check that the exact channel and workflow are included in the plan you would buy.
- Costs at your scale: Compare the bill at your actual stored-contact count and sending cadence. A contact-based plan and an email-volume plan can move differently as your audience or frequency grows.
- Adjacent needs: Decide whether you need a CRM or sales pipeline, landing pages, a website builder, or other marketing tools in the same system.
- Team capacity: Account for the time needed to rebuild segments, automations, forms, and reporting, as well as the team’s ability to maintain them.
Price the plan you would actually use
Do not compare entry prices in isolation. A lower starting price may cover fewer sends, omit a needed feature, or apply to a different contact limit. Model a normal month and a peak month, including any email and SMS allowances, then verify plan limits and billing terms with the vendor before switching.

#1 Best Overall
| Alternative | Consider it when | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Brevo | You want to compare email-volume pricing and a broader marketing toolkit that includes CRM capabilities. Shopify describes Brevo as offering a native CRM, transactional email automation, signup forms, predictive sending, unlimited subscribers, and built-in live chat. | Actual monthly send allowance, plan gates, and whether the CRM and automation features you need are included. |
| ActiveCampaign | Your operation needs deep automation alongside CRM and cross-channel messaging. ActiveCampaign describes its product as unifying CRM and cross-channel messaging; that is the company’s positioning, not an independent assessment. | Whether the complexity is justified for your team, and the current feature and price details. ActiveCampaign said its own comparison details were accurate as of March 2026. |
| MailerLite | Website building and general marketing campaigns matter more than extensive ecommerce-specific automation. Shopify’s guide lists a Shopify integration and a free tier. | Current subscriber and send limits, the Shopify integration’s present capabilities, and whether the automations cover your store’s use cases. |
| Shopify Messaging | You want to create and manage campaigns within Shopify Admin rather than add another marketing interface. Shopify says it supports creating, sending, and tracking email and SMS campaigns from Admin. | Current free-email allowance, per-email charges beyond it, and whether its available campaign and automation features meet your requirements. |
| Mailchimp | You want a broader marketing toolkit, including options Shopify describes for email, SMS, landing pages, templates, and automations. | Current plan limits, Shopify app details, and whether the ecommerce data and triggers needed for your flows are available. |
| Drip | You run a subscription business or have high sending needs. This use-case label comes from a competitor-authored comparison, so treat it as a lead to investigate rather than a neutral finding. | Whether its present integrations, workflow features, and price structure match your subscription model and send volume. |
| HubSpot | A wider CRM ecosystem is a priority. The CRM-oriented fit label is drawn from a competitor-authored comparison. | Which marketing features and contact limits are included in the relevant plan, and whether you need the broader ecosystem. |
| Privy | List-growth forms are a particular priority; this fit label comes from a competitor-authored comparison. | Whether the platform also covers the campaign and automation work you need, not just list growth. |
| GetResponse | You monetize creator or content businesses; this use-case label comes from a competitor-authored comparison. | Current plan features and whether ecommerce integrations support your store’s required data and workflows. |
What the published price snapshots do—and do not—tell you
The figures below are dated reference points, not live quotes. They come from a vendor-published comparison that says its prices were verified in September 2026 and reports lowest-tier monthly prices at 10,000 contacts. Because the comparison is published by a vendor that sells one of the products, treat it as vendor-researched information, not independent verification. The plans’ features and send allowances differ, so the figures are not directly equivalent.
| Platform | Reported lowest-tier monthly price at 10,000 contacts | Source and date |
|---|---|---|
| Drip | $154 | Vendor comparison; verified September 2026 |
| Brevo | $32 | Vendor comparison; verified September 2026 |
| ActiveCampaign | $149 | Vendor comparison; verified September 2026 |
| MailerLite | $89 | Vendor comparison; verified September 2026 |
| Shopify Messaging | Free | Vendor comparison; verified September 2026 |
| HubSpot | $410 | Vendor comparison; verified September 2026 |
| Privy | $165 | Vendor comparison; verified September 2026 |
| GetResponse | $79 | Vendor comparison; verified September 2026 |
| Mailchimp | $110 | Vendor comparison; verified September 2026 |
A separate Shopify guide dated May 30, 2026 reports different entry-level details: Shopify Messaging includes 10,000 free monthly emails, then charges per 1,000 emails; MailerLite offers up to 500 subscribers and 12,000 monthly emails free, with paid plans from $10 per month; Brevo offers up to 500 emails per month free, with plans from $19 per month; and Mailchimp paid plans start at $13 per month. These are Shopify’s published snapshots, not guarantees of current availability. Market, billing cadence, and plan configuration can affect the terms.

The difference between these snapshots is a reason to check the vendor’s current pricing page and plan calculator rather than choose from a headline number. Confirm the bill at your contact count and monthly email volume, plus the cost of any SMS or other channel usage.
How to switch without losing important workflows
- Inventory what you use. Record active campaigns, segments, signup forms, integrations, reports, and automations. For each automation, note its trigger, audience conditions, timing, message sequence, and exclusions.
- Prioritize journeys. Mark which flows are essential on day one—often welcome, abandoned cart, post-purchase, and winback—and which can wait. Include loyalty or back-in-stock messages if your store uses them.
- Verify data and triggers. In the candidate platform, check that your store integration supplies the events, product details, and customer fields each flow needs. A nominal integration is not proof that every required trigger or field is supported.
- Check migration terms directly. Ask what data can be transferred, what must be recreated, and whether any vendor assistance has limits or conditions. Vendor migration claims are not independent evidence that a move will be frictionless.
- Rebuild and test before cutting over. Recreate the highest-priority forms, segments, and automations, then test triggers, links, exclusions, and message rendering with appropriate test records. Keep the old system available until critical flows behave as expected in the replacement.
- Review after launch. Monitor sends, bounces, unsubscribes, automation entry, and campaign reporting. Compare results with your own historical baseline; no independent evidence here establishes that switching itself improves deliverability or revenue.
Make the shortlist fit your actual store
Choose two or three candidates based on your most important constraint—cost at current scale, automation depth, CRM needs, native Shopify operations, or simpler website and newsletter work. For each, validate the integration and channel workflows against your checklist, calculate a realistic monthly bill, and confirm current terms with the vendor. A platform is only a good replacement if it supports the journeys your store depends on and your team can keep it running.
