For Siri AI on iPadOS 27, Apple lists the iPad mini (A17 Pro) and iPad models with M1 or later. Installing iPadOS 27 alone does not guarantee access: your device and Siri languages must match a supported language, your region must be eligible, and you may have to wait for beta enrollment. Apple currently says Siri AI is available in English and is unavailable on iPadOS in the EU. Apple’s Siri AI instructions and requirements set out these separate checks.
Which iPads meet Apple’s Siri AI hardware requirement?
Apple’s current list includes the iPad mini (A17 Pro) and iPad models equipped with M1 or a later chip. Apple’s Apple Intelligence requirements and iPad user guide describe the supported hardware.
Check the exact model rather than relying on the iPadOS version shown in Settings. Operating-system compatibility and Apple Intelligence or Siri AI eligibility are different questions; an iPad that can install iPadOS 27 is not automatically eligible for these AI features.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsDoes iPadOS 27 mean Siri AI will be available?
No. Think of access as a sequence of checks: the iPad must meet Apple’s hardware requirement, the device and Siri languages must be set to the same supported language, the region must be eligible, and beta enrollment must be available to you. Passing the hardware check does not bypass the other conditions.

Apple’s Siri AI requirements page currently confirms English availability. Apple lists a broader range of languages for Apple Intelligence generally, but that should not be read as confirmation that Siri AI is available in every Apple Intelligence language. Apple’s Siri AI requirements and its Apple Intelligence requirements cover distinct availability details.
Language settings
Apple says the iPad’s device language and Siri language must match and be set to a supported language. If the two settings differ, change them so they match; for current Siri AI availability, Apple confirms English.

Region restrictions
Apple says Siri AI is currently unavailable on iPadOS in the European Union. It also says Siri AI will not currently work in China mainland when the Apple Account region is set to mainland China. These regional restrictions apply even when the iPad meets the hardware threshold. Apple’s availability instructions provide the current region details.
How to check and request Siri AI on a compatible iPad
- Confirm the model: verify that your iPad is an iPad mini (A17 Pro) or an iPad model with M1 or later.
- Update to iPadOS 27: use the available software update for your iPad. Installing the operating system is not the same as enabling Siri AI.
- Match the language settings: set the device language and Siri language to the same supported language. Apple currently confirms English for Siri AI.
- Check regional eligibility: Siri AI is unavailable on iPadOS in the EU, and Apple says it will not currently work in China mainland with a mainland China Apple Account region.
- Request beta access: open Settings > Siri and select Try Siri AI (Beta). Apple says this adds you to a waitlist; wait times can vary, and the beta downloads automatically after the wait.
If that option is not available, work through the model, software, language, and region checks first. A compatible iPad may still be waiting for access through the beta rollout.

Which iPhones are listed for Siri AI?
Apple’s current Siri AI list for iPhone includes iPhone 15 Pro models, iPhone 16 models or later, and iPhone Air. This is an AI-feature requirement, not a complete list of iPhones that can run iOS 27. Check Apple’s Siri AI requirements for the distinction.
Should you keep your iPad or change hardware?
If your iPad is not an iPad mini (A17 Pro) or an M1-or-later model, Apple’s listed hardware threshold is not met. The supported hardware path is an iPad that meets that requirement; changing hardware can address the device check, but it cannot override language, regional, or beta-rollout restrictions. Apple’s support requirements establish eligibility, not a model-by-model performance or value ranking.

If your iPad already meets the threshold, first check its language and region and whether beta enrollment has become available. Replacing an eligible iPad will not resolve a waitlist or an unsupported language or region.
Apple’s description of Siri AI
Apple describes Siri AI as “a profoundly more capable and conversational assistant with personal context understanding, broad world knowledge, and onscreen awareness.” That is Apple’s product description, not an independent assessment of performance. Apple’s September 14, 2026 Newsroom update provides its current launch context.
