For a dedicated band that explicitly covers heart rate, steps and calories, Fitbit Charge 6 is the clearest match. For built-in GPS and a smartwatch-style display, consider Garmin vívoactive 6; for a less expensive band, Samsung Galaxy Fit 3 is the budget-oriented option in the current roundup. No evidence here establishes a single most accurate tracker across all three measures, and calorie figures should be treated as estimates.
These six picks suit different priorities rather than forming an accuracy ranking. Before choosing, check phone compatibility and whether the GPS works on the device or depends on your phone.
Six fitness trackers for different needs
| Tracker | Best fit | GPS and compatibility | Battery life stated in the cited sources |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fitbit Charge 6 | A band with clearly listed heart-rate, step and calorie tracking | Not stated in the cited product-page evidence | Not stated in the cited product-page evidence |
| Garmin vívoactive 6 | A smartwatch-style tracker with onboard GPS | Built-in GPS; compatible with iPhone and Android | Up to 11 days, according to Garmin |
| Samsung Galaxy Fit 3 | A budget-oriented band | No GPS, according to the 2026 TechRadar roundup; Android compatibility caveat | Up to 13 days, according to the roundup |
| Amazfit Active 3 Premium | A value pick with built-in GPS | Built-in GPS; phone compatibility not stated in the cited roundup | Up to 12 days, according to the roundup |

| Garmin Cirqa | A screenless wearable | Connected GPS; phone compatibility not stated in the cited roundup | Up to 10 days, according to the roundup |
Battery-life figures are the manufacturers’ or roundup’s stated figures, not a like-for-like test. Actual runtime can vary with use. TechRadar’s 2026 roundup provides the comparative GPS, compatibility and battery details for the five models other than Fitbit Charge 6; it does not establish a common test protocol for all six.
What each tracker offers
Fitbit Charge 6: the clearest match for all three metrics
Google Store says Charge 6 tracks heart rate, steps, distance and calories burned. Its technical page lists more than 40 exercise modes and the ability to transmit heart rate to select compatible exercise machines. It also specifies seven days of detailed minute-by-minute motion data, daily totals for the last 30 days, and heart-rate data at one-second intervals during exercise tracking and five-second intervals at other times. Those are feature and data-storage descriptions, not proof of measurement accuracy for every wearer or workout. Google Store: Fitbit Charge 6 features · Fitbit Charge 6 technical specifications

Consumer Reports’ 2026 buying guide gives Charge 6 an overall score of 69 and lists an approximate retail price of $160. The score is a guide-level result, and the price is approximate rather than a current quote. Consumer Reports says its heart-rate measure evaluates agreement with testers’ actual heart rates, while its step measure evaluates agreement with testers’ actual steps. These are useful independent measures, but they do not establish calorie accuracy or predict results for every individual. Consumer Reports: Best fitness trackers of 2026
Garmin vívoactive 6: onboard GPS and a larger smartwatch experience
Garmin lists built-in GPS, continuous wrist-based heart-rate sampling, daily step and calorie tracking, and compatibility with iPhone and Android. Garmin advertises up to 11 days of battery life. The 2026 TechRadar roundup says heart-rate tracking could be better and GPS less precise than on some Garmin models; those are the outlet’s editorial observations, not results from a controlled comparison against every tracker here. Samsung Galaxy Fit 3: a budget-oriented band
TechRadar names Galaxy Fit 3 its budget pick and lists up to 13 days of battery life, no GPS and an Android compatibility caveat. That makes it a poor fit if you need the tracker itself to record an outdoor route without a phone. Confirm that your specific phone and the version sold in your market are compatible before buying. Apple Watch SE 3: for an iPhone user who wants a smartwatch
The 2026 roundup lists GPS, iOS-only compatibility and 18-hour battery life. Its shorter stated runtime than the band-style options is relevant if you want continuous wear for sleep tracking or dislike frequent charging. The cited material does not provide a directly comparable Charge 6 feature or accuracy test. TechRadar: best fitness trackers
Garmin Cirqa: a screenless choice
TechRadar describes Cirqa as its screenless choice, with connected GPS and up to 10 days of battery life. Connected GPS relies on a paired phone, unlike built-in GPS, so it is not the right option if you want to leave your phone behind on a route. The cited roundup does not provide the same explicit step-and-calorie feature detail available for Charge 6. TechRadar: best fitness trackers

How to choose for heart rate, calories and steps
Start with the metric you actually use
- For all three features clearly listed: Charge 6’s official product page explicitly names heart rate, steps and calories burned.
- For steps and daily activity within a smartwatch: vívoactive 6 is documented to track daily steps and calories and includes built-in GPS.
- For outdoor routes: choose built-in GPS if you want route recording without carrying a phone. Connected GPS depends on a compatible paired phone; a device without GPS cannot independently record a GPS route.
- For fewer charging interruptions: compare the stated battery figures, but remember that advertised or roundup-listed maximums are not guaranteed runtimes under every setting and use pattern.
Do not treat calorie burn as a precise number
The cited product material describes calories as a tracker output, but the evidence does not provide comparable, independently validated calorie-accuracy results for these six models. Use the number as an estimate for observing broad trends, not as a precise food-budget allowance or a medical measurement.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsCheck fit, phone support and app experience
A band, smartwatch and screenless wearable differ in how you see information and wear the device; choose the form you are likely to keep on. Compatibility can rule out a model before its features matter: Apple Watch SE 3 is listed as iOS-only, while Galaxy Fit 3 has an Android compatibility caveat. The roundup notes that Oura Ring 5 requires a subscription for its full experience, but positions it primarily as a sleep and recovery smart ring rather than a direct step-and-calorie choice, so it is not included among these six recommendations.

How much confidence to place in tracker readings
A manufacturer’s feature list confirms that a device offers a measurement; it does not show how closely it matches a reference measure for each wearer. Heart-rate readings can differ by person, fit, movement and activity. Step counts also depend on how a device is worn and what movement it detects. For Charge 6, Consumer Reports’ 2026 guide provides named heart-rate and step-count measures based on comparison with testers’ actual readings, but those results should not be generalized to untested models or used as an accuracy ranking across this shortlist.
Garmin states that vívosmart 5 is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose or monitor medical conditions. That caution is relevant to consumer trackers generally: none of these recommendations should be treated as a diagnostic tool. Garmin vívosmart 5 product information
Which one should you buy?
Choose Fitbit Charge 6 if you want a dedicated band whose official listing explicitly covers heart rate, steps and calories. Choose Garmin vívoactive 6 if built-in GPS, broad phone compatibility and a smartwatch-style tracker matter more. Pick Galaxy Fit 3 for a budget-oriented band only after verifying compatibility; choose Active 3 Premium for a value-oriented model with built-in GPS. Apple Watch SE 3 makes most sense for an iPhone user comfortable with its 18-hour listed battery life, while Garmin Cirqa suits someone who specifically wants a screenless device and accepts phone-dependent GPS.
