For a Bosch rotary laser used indoors and outdoors, the PRO LR 45 is a strong general-purpose option: Bosch specifies an operating range of up to 300 m for its stated setup and an IP66 enclosure rating. But the right receiver depends first on your exact laser model and beam type. Bosch’s LR 6 is intended for selected line and combination lasers, while the LR 65 G is identified for the GRL 650 CHVG rotary laser.
Check compatibility before choosing a receiver
A receiver is not interchangeable simply because it carries the Bosch name. Bosch offers models for different laser types and supported instruments. Start with the laser’s manual or Bosch’s compatibility information, then confirm the receiver’s regional model number and package.
- Bosch’s GLL 3-80-family instructions list the LR 6 and LR 7 as compatible receivers.
- Bosch identifies the GRL 650 CHVG as suitable for the LR 65 G.
- For the LR 1, Bosch specifies its up-to-200 m range only with the GRL 400 H or GRL 300 HV rotary lasers.
See Bosch’s Professional tools and manuals for the exact instrument documentation; compatibility should be confirmed against the specific laser’s instructions, not inferred from the receiver brand.
How the Bosch receiver options differ
| Receiver | Intended use and stated range | Accuracy settings | Enclosure rating | Notable features |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| PRO LR 45 | Rotary laser receiver; up to 300 m, per Bosch’s current product specification | Selectable settings spanning ±1 mm to ±10 mm | IP66 | Detects red and green beams; long reception area; dual-sided backlit display with mm offset; six sensitivity settings; three volume settings; spirit level. Cited regional variant includes bracket RB 45. |
| PRO LR 6 | Line/combi receiver; Bosch India page states up to 50 m. Check the compatible laser’s instructions and conditions. | Fine ±1 mm; rough ±3 mm | IP54 | Compact; visual and audible alignment signals; AAA batteries. Bosch’s 2022 manual gives approximately 30 hours of operating time. |
| PRO LR 1 | Rotary receiver; up to 200 m with GRL 400 H or GRL 300 HV, according to Bosch | Fine ±1 mm; rough ±3 mm | IP65 | Audible and visual alignment; specified by Bosch for indoor and outdoor use. |
| PRO LR 65 G | Green-beam receiver identified for the GRL 650 CHVG; no laser working-range figure stated here | Fine ±0.5 mm; rough ±10 mm | IP67 | 125 mm reception window; dual-sided backlit display with mm offset; detects green beams. |
These are Bosch specifications, not results from independent comparative testing. Range and accuracy are not directly comparable unless the laser, operating conditions, and selected settings are also the same.

Which model fits your job?
Choose the LR 45 for a compatible rotary laser used across varied sites
The LR 45 is the broadest fit among these choices when the rotary laser is compatible and the work moves between indoor and outdoor settings. Bosch describes it for tasks including excavation, landscaping, façade work, concrete pouring, and HVAC installation. Its dual-sided display, adjustable sensitivity, and selectable accuracy settings help adapt the readout to the task. Bosch states a working range of up to 300 m; treat that as a manufacturer specification for a laser-and-receiver setup, not a guarantee for every instrument or jobsite.
Choose the LR 6 when your compatible laser is a line or combination model
The LR 6 is a compact option for supported Bosch line/combi lasers, including models in the GLL 3-80 family named in Bosch instructions. Bosch’s India product page gives a range of up to 50 m, so check the local product page and your laser manual rather than applying that figure universally. The LR 6 manual warns that unfavorable conditions, such as direct sunlight, can reduce working range.

- Receiver to extend working range increases rotary detection up to 1,000 Ft., with easy-to-see indicators and adjustable audio
- Backlit LCD display illuminates large, easy-to-see up/down arrows, center line, accuracy level, battery level and audio signal
- Dual-sided indicators provide easy visual readout on both sides of the receiver
- Oversized detection area enables fast laser reception
- Built-in magnets allow for secure attachment to metal surfaces
Choose the LR 1 only for a supported rotary-laser pairing
Bosch states up to 200 m when the LR 1 is used with the GRL 400 H or GRL 300 HV. Its audible and visual alignment indicators and IP65 rating may suit indoor/outdoor rotary-laser work, but the stated range should not be transferred to another laser model.

Understand range, accuracy, and protection ratings
Working range depends on the complete setup
A receiver’s stated maximum range is not a universal distance independent of the laser. Bosch ties the LR 1’s 200 m figure to two named rotary lasers, and conditions can reduce usable distance. Sunlight is one example in the LR 6 manual. For reliable expectations, use the laser manual’s range guidance together with the receiver documentation.
Accuracy figures describe selectable modes
Fine and rough settings are not the same tolerance. The LR 6 specifies ±1 mm fine and ±3 mm rough; the LR 1 specifies the same pair. The LR 45 offers selectable values from ±1 mm through ±10 mm, while the LR 65 G lists ±0.5 mm fine and ±10 mm rough. A tighter setting can help when the task demands closer alignment, while a broader setting may be easier to acquire at a distance; use the mode definitions in the product manual.

IP ratings are not immersion guarantees
Bosch publishes IP66 for the LR 45, IP54 for the LR 6, IP65 for the LR 1, and IP67 for the LR 65 G. These ratings describe enclosure protection under defined test conditions; they do not establish that a receiver can be submerged or withstand every kind of impact, contamination, or jobsite abuse. Follow the specific manual’s cleaning, storage, and operating instructions.

Bosch product pages can vary by region and product variant. Before buying, match the complete receiver name to the laser’s compatibility list and confirm the local SKU, included bracket, and spare-part number. Bosch lists bracket RB 45 with the cited LR 45 variant, but that should not be assumed for every regional package.
