For U.S. viewers, Crunchyroll is a sensible anime-first place to start, while Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, Prime Video, HIDIVE, Tubi, and RetroCrush suit different catalogs and budgets. No service carries every English dub: availability can vary by series, season, language, and country. Search for the exact title and confirm English audio on the service’s own page before subscribing or renting.

Where can you watch English-dubbed anime legally?

The services below are useful starting points, not a permanent ranking by catalog size. This comparison is primarily U.S.-focused; streaming rights, audio tracks, and app availability can differ elsewhere. Catalogs and plans change, so check a provider’s current listing for the show and season you want.

Service Best fit Access model What to check
Crunchyroll Anime-first viewing Subscription service; current plan details are not stated in the comparison source. Whether the specific series and season offer English audio; some entries are sub-only.
HIDIVE Niche anime, including some titles associated with Sentai Filmworks Subscription service; current plan details are not stated in the comparison source. Its library is characterized as smaller; confirm the title and dub before subscribing.
Hulu / Disney+ Anime alongside general entertainment, especially for U.S. viewers Access path varies; some Hulu content is only available in the Hulu app. Which service carries the title and where it plays. The dubbed-anime Hulu page redirected to Disney+ when checked, so follow the current destination and listing.
Netflix Netflix originals and mainstream titles Subscription service; current plan details are not stated in the comparison source. Its official dubbed-anime catalog is live and can vary by territory; inspect audio options on the title page.
Prime Video Anime for people who already use Prime, alongside other Prime benefits A title may be included, available to rent or buy, or offered through an add-on. Check the title’s specific access method and English audio before paying.
Tubi Free viewing of some dubbed anime Free, ad-supported streaming. Availability is selective and can vary; check the individual title.
RetroCrush Classic anime Free and premium options. More useful for classics than new releases; verify the title and dub.

These descriptions reflect a current U.S.-focused service comparison, not an independent measurement of catalog size or a guarantee that a particular dub is available. The practical choice is the one that carries your show, season, and preferred audio in your location. Compare anime streaming services.

How to verify that a specific anime has an English dub

  1. Search for the exact series and season. A service may carry one season but not another, or offer a show without English audio.
  2. Open the provider’s own title page. Check the audio or language options rather than relying on a search result, third-party listing, or the service’s general anime page.
  3. Confirm the listing in your country. Licensed catalogs vary by location, and a title page or dub listed for one territory may not apply to yours.
  4. Check how you will access it. On Prime Video, distinguish included titles from rentals, purchases, and add-on channels. For Hulu and Disney+, make sure the listing directs you to an app where the content is available.
  5. Verify before committing. If the dub is essential, check the actual title and season before paying for a subscription, rental, or add-on.

What does “English-dubbed anime” mean?

English-dubbed anime has an English-language voice track replacing or accompanying the original-language dialogue. It is different from subtitled anime, where the original audio remains and translated text appears on screen. A series can have both options, but the dub may not be available on every service, in every season, or in every country.

Which services are current, and which older recommendations should you skip?

Funimation and AnimeLab appear in older coverage, but that coverage is not reliable evidence that either remains a current standalone viewing option. Check current provider listings rather than choosing a service because it appears in a legacy list. Older lists may also mix legal services with unauthorized sites; this guide recommends legal services only. The article matching the older list title distinguishes its legal entries from sites it labels illegal, so it should not be treated as a current directory of lawful choices.

Do not assume a service has a license in your location because a title appears in another country’s catalog. Check the provider’s local listing instead of trying to bypass regional restrictions.

Do you need special hardware to watch?

No. You can use a provider’s website, phone, computer, or compatible smart-TV app. A streaming device such as a Roku Streaming Stick HD is only an optional way to add compatible apps to a TV that lacks them; it is not required for watching on a website or another supported device. The service comparison also lists streaming products.
