For a confirmed permanent display, visit Fryxell Geology Museum at Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois: it lists a complete Cryolophosaurus skeleton. For a timed audiovisual experience, Cleveland Museum of Natural History lists a 3D film through October 25, 2026. The broader touring exhibition Antarctic Dinosaurs has appeared at several museums, but the available venue pages describe past runs rather than a currently confirmed host.
See a Cryolophosaurus skeleton at Fryxell Geology Museum
Fryxell Geology Museum at Augustana College, 820 38th St., Rock Island, Illinois, lists a complete 22-foot Cryolophosaurus skeleton. It is the clearest confirmed permanent specimen stop among the venues covered here. The museum also displays 1,500 items from a collection of more than 20,000 rock, mineral and fossil specimens.
Its posted regular hours are 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1–4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday when classes are in session. Weekend access depends on the academic calendar, so contact the college before planning a Saturday or Sunday visit. Check the Fryxell Geology Museum page for current visitor information.
Catch the Cleveland museum’s Antarctic dinosaurs 3D film
The Cleveland Museum of Natural History lists a 42-minute Dinosaurs of Antarctica 3D film in Murch Auditorium through October 25, 2026. The listed add-on ticket is $7 on top of general admission. This is a scheduled film experience, not evidence of a dedicated Antarctic dinosaur fossil gallery at the museum.
#1 Best Overall
- Build a large Spinosaurus desktop exhibit with Essien: a 19.3" long 1:35 scientific art model, scene base, display base, 48-page manual, 20 posters, 7 art cards, 28 exhibit labels, and QR codes linking to online videos (internet required).
- Essien is the larger scene-display Spinosaurus in the PNSO Dinosaur Museums Series, designed for stronger shelf presence than a standard standing predator model.
- The long crocodile-like snout, tall sail, powerful forelimbs, textured skin, opening jaw, and prey scene base create a dramatic Cretaceous predator moment.
- The 2021 colorway, scene base, posters, cards, labels, and QR-linked online video content (internet required) help turn Essien into a compact museum-style scientific art exhibit.
- Hand-painted on solid PVC for ages 15+ and adult collectors who want a large Spinosaurus centerpiece with paleontology depth and display value.
Showtimes vary between weekdays and weekends and may change. Check the museum’s film listing close to your visit before making plans around a screening.
Look for the touring exhibition—but verify the host and dates
The Field Museum developed Antarctic Dinosaurs with partner museums. Its fact sheet describes a 5,500-square-foot exhibition featuring more than 60 fossils, full-scale replicas, touchable models, nine mechanical or digital interactives and seven videos. Featured material includes Cryolophosaurus and a nearly complete juvenile sauropodomorph. That combination offers a wider account of Antarctic fossils and exploration than a single-skeleton display, but the fact sheet does not provide a current tour schedule or name the next host.
Rank #2
- Meet Anthony the Styracosaurus in a complete display-and-learning set with a 7.1-inch solid model, 64-page illustrated manual, A3 Sci-Art poster, and QR codes linking to online educational videos (internet required).
- PNSO reconstructs Styracosaurus as a 5.5-meter ceratopsian with a heavy body, powerful limbs, long nasal horn, and large defensive frill.
- The frill carries eight distinctive spikes: six long spikes create a dramatic crown-like silhouette, while two shorter spikes point downward along the sides.
- A high nasal region, paired bony bosses above the eyes, individually sculpted scales, visible skin folds, and natural striped coloring give Anthony a detailed scientific-art appearance.
- Made from solid PVC and painted by hand, Anthony is designed for ages 15+ and adult collectors interested in ceratopsians, paleoart, natural history, and dinosaur displays.
Past runs show why it is important to confirm dates rather than rely on an exhibit page alone:
- The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County records its run as April 3, 2019–January 5, 2020. See its archived exhibition page.
- The Florida Museum of Natural History described its Gainesville run as continuing through April 21, 2024, in a 2023 release. Read the Florida Museum announcement.
- The Witte Museum labels its February–September 2023 run closed on its past-exhibit page.
The Field Museum’s exhibition fact sheet explains the show’s contents; it should not be treated as proof that the exhibition is currently open somewhere.
