To get the Firstlight War Fans schematic in Slayer 2, progress through Iceveil’s supply and NPC clue quests, buy and keep the in-game Shovel, then dig the snow patch near the settlement houses when the final clue sends you there. The schematic is a quest reward; it is not the finished weapon.
How to reach the Firstlight War Fans quest

Complete Iceveil’s supply objectives
Start by advancing the Iceveil supply progression. Guides describe earlier objectives involving cooked meat and Health Elixirs, but their reported quantities differ. Follow the requirements shown in your current quest tracker rather than relying on a fixed number from a guide. Games.gg’s route guide and NerdsChalk’s guide provide examples of the route.

Buy the Shovel and retain it
After opening the Iceveil progression, look for Winter Store Rep Lynx, also described as the Iceveil shop NPC. Buy the in-game Shovel and keep it until you complete the dig. It is the item used for the quest action, not a real-world tool recommendation. Pro Game Guides describes the Shovel as necessary for the final step.

Follow the NPC clue chain
Complete the dialogue and any quest objectives shown in the game. Recent guides name Iceveil Guard Shiro, Shiori, Dockmaster Sofen, Old Trapper Retsu, and Lynx in the progression. The clue chain is more reliable than trying to dig before the game points you to the location.

Use the final clue to find the snow patch
Return to the settlement after receiving the final location clue. Search the snowy area around the houses and use the Shovel on the snow pile or patch. Digging there awards the schematic.
Where to look in Iceveil Settlement
Third-party guides describe the target as a snow pile near the houses at the top of Iceveil Settlement, a patch beside a house near Domae, or a mound beyond the last houses. Those descriptions point to the settlement’s house-side snow-dig area, but they do not establish one exact landmark. Use the final in-game clue and quest tracker to narrow the spot rather than treating any single guide’s wording as a precise map coordinate. IndiaTimes’ guide describes the mound beyond the last houses; NerdsChalk places it by a house near Domae.

What the schematic unlocks
The schematic unlocks the Firstlight War Fans recipe; it does not grant the completed weapon. You still need the materials and crafting progression required by the current recipe. Exact recipe details and weapon stats may change, so check the live crafting interface after you obtain the schematic.
Why your quest route may differ
Guides disagree on some supply quantities and precise route details, and no official developer map or current walkthrough establishes every prerequisite or landmark. One guide also lists level 100 or higher, but that requirement is not confirmed across the available guides. If an NPC or dig prompt is unavailable, finish the active Iceveil objective and dialogue in your tracker before retrying; do not assume a guide’s quantity or level note overrides the game’s current instructions. Games.gg, Pro Game Guides, NerdsChalk, and IndiaTimes are secondary guides, so in-game objectives are the best check for the version you are playing.
