Check The Home Depot, Office Depot, or Lowe’s online before you go: enter your ZIP code or select a store to see whether an Ethernet cable is available for pickup or delivery. Local stock can vary, so confirm the listing for your chosen store rather than relying on a general product page.
Which nearby stores sell Ethernet cables?
Hardware and office-supply retailers are practical places to look. Their websites let you check local inventory and pickup options before making a trip.
- The Home Depot: Its Ethernet cable listings for nearby stores include an “In Stock Near Me” option and an in-store-today filter. The listings show Cat 6 and Cat 6A cables in different lengths. Local prices and inventory can vary, and displayed stock is not guaranteed.
- Office Depot: Its Ethernet cable listings offer pickup and delivery filters, along with a nearby-store stock lookup. Pickup shown for one location may not apply to yours, so set your own store.
- Lowe’s: Its Ethernet cable listings provide a “Find My Store” option, pickup and delivery choices, and filters for cable types and lengths.
How to check local stock before you leave

What kind of Ethernet cable should you look for?
For a typical router-to-computer connection
Search for a Cat 6 Ethernet cable, then choose a length that reaches along the intended route. Cat 6 is a straightforward product search for a common home connection; the listings also include Cat 6A options, but the available information does not establish that every setup needs Cat 6A.

- Measure or estimate the route so the cable is long enough without ordering a much longer one than you need.
