For the clearest official route, start at Metallica.com’s Met Store. Metallica’s official Linktree also links to a UK/EU store operated through Probity Merch. To check a product, follow a link from Metallica’s own channels and confirm the exact item appears on the linked store. For marketplace and resale listings, the official sources do not provide a universal authentication test, so treat authenticity as unverified unless the seller can document its provenance.
Where to buy official Metallica merchandise
Met Store on Metallica.com
The Met Store is the direct official merchandise route identified on Metallica.com. Its catalog includes apparel and accessories such as T-shirts, hoodies, hats, glassware, collectibles, and other products. The available designs and items can change, so check the live catalog for what is currently offered.
UK/EU store
Metallica’s official Linktree lists a “Shop the Probity Merch Metallica UK/EU Store” route. The linked Metallica regional storefront identifies itself as the official store and lists physical music formats, including vinyl, CDs, cassettes, and videos. Before ordering, check that the storefront’s destination, shipping route, and current terms suit your location.

How to check whether a Metallica merch listing is authentic
- Start from an official Metallica channel. Navigate to the store from Metallica.com or Metallica’s official Linktree, rather than relying on an advertisement or a shop name that merely sounds official.
- Look for the exact item on the linked store. Metallica’s store help page states: “If an item is not available in the Metallica Store online, it is not currently available for purchase.” This describes current availability through that store; an item’s absence there does not by itself prove that a resale listing is counterfeit.
- For third-party or resale offers, ask for provenance. The official pages reviewed do not set out a universal authentication checklist for merchandise sold elsewhere. A seller’s claim, product photo, or tag is not conclusive proof on the basis of those sources. If the seller cannot document where the item came from, regard its authenticity as unverified.
Choose the store route that fits your order
When comparing the official storefronts, check the destination country and shipping route, whether the exact product is in stock, the format you want, and the current shipping and returns terms. Metallica’s help index covers shipping and returns, but detailed fees and delivery estimates can vary and should be checked on the live store before purchase.
The Met Store says items bought there are not intended for resale and that it may limit purchase quantities. Its catalog should not be taken as a promise that every past tour item or limited edition remains available.
