Apple has not announced an “Apple TV Pro” or confirmed when a new Apple TV will arrive. Recent reports point to a possible fourth-generation Apple TV 4K, with October 13, 2026, floated as a potential launch date—but that date and the rumored upgrades remain unconfirmed.
Is Apple launching an Apple TV Pro?
There is no confirmed Apple TV Pro. The product discussed in recent reports is a possible fourth-generation Apple TV 4K; “Apple TV Pro” is not a verified product name. Apple has not announced a next-generation model in the sources available as of October 8, 2026.
Apple’s latest official announcement covered the third-generation Apple TV 4K, released on October 18, 2022. Apple listed an A15 Bionic chip and two configurations: 64GB Wi‑Fi, or 128GB Wi‑Fi plus Ethernet. Apple’s announcement also included a Siri Remote.

On September 29, 2026, MacRumors reported that an Apple support document used the wording “3rd generation or later” and included an image attributed to an unreleased fourth-generation model. Those details are clues, not confirmation: the wording could be intended to future-proof the page, or it could be an error. Apple has not explained them. MacRumors’ report describes the evidence and its uncertainty.

MacRumors and 9to5Mac have also reported that a launch may be near. 9to5Mac named October 13, 2026, as a possible date, while MacRumors described an October launch as expected. Apple has not confirmed either the date or a launch event. MacRumors’ October 6 rumor guide and 9to5Mac’s October 5 report are reports, not Apple announcements.
What might change in the next Apple TV 4K?

Should you buy an Apple TV 4K now or wait?
The decision depends on whether you need a streaming device now and how comfortable you are with uncertainty. The third-generation Apple TV 4K is the only model in this comparison with published specifications. MacRumors reported that its U.S. starting price rose from $129 to $199 after a June 2026 increase; that is a U.S.- and date-specific report, not pricing for a new model. Check current local pricing before buying.
