Yamaha does not publish a country-of-origin map for every receiver model. The company says its products are made and assembled across several countries, but that broad statement does not identify where a particular Yamaha receiver was made. To verify an individual unit, check the country-of-origin marking on that exact receiver.
Where are Yamaha receivers made?
Yamaha’s company-wide manufacturing information says its products, including audio equipment, are primarily manufactured and assembled by Yamaha Group companies based in Japan, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, and India. Yamaha also uses manufacturing contractors. The production-site information is dated “As of March 31, 2026.” Yamaha’s supply-chain page describes the company’s overall operations; it does not say that every listed country makes receivers or assign a specific receiver model to a country.
Yamaha’s worldwide group-company directory identifies Yamaha Electronics Manufacturing (M) Sdn Bhd in Chemor, Malaysia, and Yamaha Electronics (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. in Suzhou, China, as manufacturers of audio equipment. These entries establish that the named subsidiaries manufacture audio equipment, but do not connect either facility to a particular AV receiver.

How can I check the country of origin for my Yamaha receiver?
- Check the exact unit’s identification label or plate. Look for a country-of-origin statement such as “Made in” on the receiver itself. The marking on the individual unit is the most direct evidence of its origin.
- If you are buying remotely, request a photo of that label. Ask the seller for a clear image from the actual unit being offered. A stock image, catalog page, or picture of another receiver may not reflect the origin of the specific unit.
- Match the details against exact documentation. Check the full model designation and regional variant in the receiver’s documentation. A model number or family name alone does not establish where it was made.
- Ask Yamaha or an authorized distributor if the marking is unclear. Provide the model and label details to the Yamaha representative or authorized distributor for your region. Yamaha’s support directory directs customers to their nearest representative or listed authorized distributor for product details.
Why a model listing does not establish its origin
Yamaha’s regional AV receiver catalog lists AVENTAGE, RX, and TSR/HTR families, with models such as RX-A8A, RX-A6A, RX-A4A, RX-A2A, and RX-V6A. That catalog shows products offered in that region, not their countries of manufacture; it is not a complete catalog for every market.

Do not infer origin from a receiver’s price tier, product family, seller listing, or Yamaha’s headquarters. When comparing two units, compare each unit’s country-of-origin label, exact model and regional variant, and whether the seller’s evidence applies to the actual unit being sold.
