What was ICwiki?
ICwiki was Microchip Technology’s proposed online knowledge-sharing community focused on microelectronics. In its August 6, 2007 launch announcement, Microchip said users could collaborate on information related to semiconductor products, applications, and best practices. The company aimed to connect working engineers with university students and professors, giving students access to industry knowledge and supporting the transition from academia to industry.
Microchip described ICwiki as a collaborative resource, not simply a static product reference. The announcement does not report measured usage, contribution levels, educational outcomes, or independent review of user-submitted material.

These were features described at launch in 2007, not confirmation that the service or its features remain available now.

Which languages did ICwiki support at launch?
Microchip said the site supported seven languages: English, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, French, German, and Russian. This is the language list in the 2007 launch announcement, not a statement about present-day availability.

What did Microchip claim about the site?
Mitch Little, then Microchip’s vice president of Worldwide Sales and Applications, said: “ICwiki promotes the collaboration between academia and industry that is crucial to the future of the electronics industry, and we are thrilled to be the first in the semiconductor industry to provide such a resource.” The “first” statement is Microchip’s claim in its announcement; the release does not independently establish an industry-wide ranking.

The launch announcement documents ICwiki’s planned purpose and features in 2007, but it does not say whether the site is still online or maintained. Microchip’s current corporate overview describes the company’s broader semiconductor business and development tools; it does not establish that those resources succeeded or replaced ICwiki.
