Before buying a racing wheel for Gran Turismo 7 on PS5, verify that the exact PlayStation version of the wheel is supported, then compare its in-game force-feedback controls, included pedals and accessories, mounting needs, and the cost of the complete setup. A manufacturer’s PS5 compatibility claim matters: a similarly named PC- or Xbox-focused variant is not proof that the model you are considering works with your console.
1. Confirm PS5 and GT7 compatibility for the exact wheel variant
Check the manufacturer’s current compatibility information for the precise model and platform version you plan to buy. Look for both PS5 support and Gran Turismo 7 support; do not assume that a product name shared across PlayStation, Xbox, and PC variants means every version works on PS5. Also confirm the seller’s listing identifies the PlayStation version.
The Gran Turismo G923 compatibility notice, dated March 21, 2023, reported that PS4 system software 10.50 and PS5 system software 23.01-07.00.00, released March 8, 2023, included connectivity fixes and that the Logitech G923 should then function normally. This is model-specific evidence, not a complete or permanent compatibility roster.
GT7 update notes also mention particular wheels when describing a fix. For example, Update 1.41, dated November 21, 2023, names the Logitech G923, Logitech G PRO Racing Wheel, and Thrustmaster T-GT/T-GT II in a fix for vibration output when Vibration Strength was set to 130 or higher. A model’s appearance in a note is useful evidence about that behavior, but it does not establish that the note is a full compatibility list.

2. Understand how GT7 handles force feedback and calibration
A wheel’s advertised feedback features only tell part of the story; check how GT7 uses them and what you can adjust in the game. In its G923 notice, Gran Turismo says GT7 uses the wheel’s TRUEFORCE function to reproduce engine and wheel-slip vibrations. The notice also points to in-game vibration-strength adjustment and Steering Controller Settings, where connected wheel inputs and pedal sensitivity can be checked or calibrated.
GT7’s settings have also been adjusted through updates. The Update 1.15 notes describe force-feedback adjustments and caution that very high Max Torque or Sensitivity settings could cause violent vibration on the wheels listed there; the stated remedy is to lower the setting. Treat that as historical setting guidance, not evidence of a current defect affecting every wheel. Once connected, begin with moderate settings and adjust gradually if feedback feels too strong.

3. Compare the complete bundle, not just the wheel base
Retail bundles can differ, so check the exact seller and manufacturer listings for what is in the box. Verify:

- Which pedals are included and whether their functions meet your needs.
- Whether a shifter is included or sold separately, if you want one.
- Whether mounting hardware is included or requires a separate purchase.
- Whether the wheel clamps securely to your desk or requires a stand or cockpit.
These are practical checks rather than features established by the GT7 compatibility notices. Confirm the contents and fit for the exact bundle you intend to order; accessories such as a shifter or replacement pedals are setup-dependent, not requirements for playing GT7.

4. Check mounting space and the total setup cost
Measure the available desk or cockpit space and consider whether your mounting surface is stable enough for the wheel’s force feedback. If it is not, factor a compatible stand or cockpit into the setup. Add any separately sold pedals, shifter, or mounting hardware you actually want before comparing totals; the wheel-base price alone may not represent the setup you intend to use.

5. Use a quick pre-purchase checklist
- Identify the exact variant: confirm the listing is for the PlayStation version, not a similarly named version for another platform.
- Verify current support: check the manufacturer’s current PS5 and GT7 compatibility information for that variant.
- Review game controls: see what feedback adjustments are available and whether the wheel’s key inputs and pedals can be checked or calibrated in GT7.
