Before buying a Diwali edition phone in India, verify the exact model and configuration, the final price and box contents, the handset’s IMEI, and the seller’s warranty and service arrangements. Treat “Diwali edition” as a label—not proof of different hardware, a special warranty, or a bundle—until the exact listing and written terms confirm what you will receive.
What “Diwali edition” means—and what it does not
The label can refer to a festive finish, special packaging, included accessories, or a seasonal promotion. It does not, by itself, establish that the phone has different specifications or software support. Check the exact model’s official specifications and support information if those features matter to your decision.
One historical example shows why the details matter: OPPO’s 19 October 2020 announcement described the F17 Pro Diwali Edition as having a gold, green, and blue color treatment with a matte finish. OPPO said its special gift box included the phone, a 10,000mAh power bank, and a customized glittery back cover. The announced launch price was INR 23,990 at that time, across online and offline platforms. Those are historical details about one product, not a current price benchmark or a template for other festive editions.
On the listing and order summary, match the model name and number, RAM, storage, and selected color. Check the contents and offer terms for that exact seller and variant, then save the listing or terms alongside your invoice.

Pre-purchase checks
1. Confirm the exact variant and payable price
Compare the final checkout price for the configuration you selected, not an advertised starting price for a different variant. Note any conditions that change the amount, such as a bank-card discount or exchange offer.
2. Verify every bundle item
For each advertised gift, establish whether it comes from the manufacturer, retailer, or a separate promotion; whether it is in stock; and whether it is included in the order or written offer terms. Do not assume an accessory fits your phone: check its connector, charging standard, and model compatibility.
3. Check the IMEI before accepting the phone
The Indian government’s CEIR guidance says the IMEI is printed on the packaging and may appear on the bill or invoice; dialing *#06# on the handset displays it. CEIR advises avoiding a phone if its IMEI result is blacklisted, duplicate, or already in use. You can check by SMS using KYM <15-digit IMEI number> sent to 14422, or use the CEIR IMEI verification portal.
4. Check both IMEIs on a dual-SIM phone
CEIR notes that dual-SIM phones have two IMEI numbers. Check each one. The verification result can include the manufacturer, device type, brand, and model; compare those details with the phone and packaging.
5. Establish who is selling it and how support works
Confirm the seller’s identity and whether it is an authorized source. Check where authorized service is available and how the brand validates warranty for the exact handset. CEIR advises buying from authorized sources and using authorized service centers for repairs; its IMEI guidance is also a useful starting point for checking the device.
6. Read the promotion’s actual terms
Look for the offer dates, eligible seller and model, payment or exchange conditions, activation requirements, and the process for claiming a benefit. A past promotion does not establish a current entitlement. Save the terms that apply on your purchase date.

7. Keep proof of what was sold
Retain the invoice, order confirmation, payment record, listing or offer terms, and the phone’s IMEI. Together, these records identify the handset and the benefits the seller promised.

Put the same kinds of facts side by side. A headline discount is not directly comparable with a conditional price, and a gift is not valuable to you if it is unavailable or incompatible.

If the offer depends on a bank payment, exchange, activation, or prize draw, show that condition next to the advertised benefit. Compare written commitments for warranty and software support rather than inferring them from festive packaging.
Seasonal offers can be date- and product-specific
OPPO’s India Diwali store page lists seasonal page benefits including an exchange program, “30-day Replace,No Repair,” “Free Film Cleaning and Warranty,” and an “100% Authenticity Guaranteed” claim. These are page claims, not a guarantee that a benefit applies to a particular phone, seller, or purchase date. Check the linked conditions and confirm applicability before relying on them.
OPPO’s 2025 Diwali raffle terms described an additional 90 days of warranty for qualifying participants. The India offer ran from 19 September through 31 October 2025 and required a qualifying new device, activation, and participation; a prize draw did not guarantee a win. That offer period has passed, so it should not be treated as available in 2026.

The page’s dynamic presentation does not establish current stock, price, or compatibility with a particular phone. Confirm the live terms and match any accessory to the phone before counting it as part of the deal.
