The official Play Nintendo video introduces Kirby and the Forgotten Land as a 3D adventure built around copying enemy abilities, rescuing Waddle Dees, and transforming by inhaling oversized objects. For families, Nintendo also lists two difficulty settings, same-system co-op for two players, and a US ESRB rating of Everyone 10+ with Cartoon Violence.
What is the Kirby and the Forgotten Land gameplay video about?
Play Nintendo presents the video as an overview of the Nintendo Switch-family game. Kirby travels through 3D stages in a mysterious world, faces the Beast Pack, and tries to rescue captured Waddle Dees. The game’s central twist is Mouthful Mode: Kirby inhales certain real-world objects and takes on a form that lets him interact with the environment in a different way. He can also copy abilities from enemies.
Nintendo’s release overview adds that the setting includes abandoned structures from a past civilization. Kirby can use abilities such as Drill and Ranger, and some abilities can be evolved. These are Nintendo’s descriptions of the game, not an independent assessment of its difficulty or content.

Is Kirby and the Forgotten Land suitable for kids?
The Play Nintendo page gives the US ESRB rating as Everyone 10+ with Cartoon Violence. That is the US rating shown on Nintendo’s page; ratings and labels can differ by territory. Parents should use their local rating information when making a decision.
#1 Best Overall
The game includes cartoon-style combat against enemies, alongside exploration, rescuing Waddle Dees, and comic object-based transformations. Nintendo’s rating is useful context, but it does not replace a family’s judgment about a particular child.
Which difficulty should a new player choose?
| Mode | What Nintendo says | Who it may suit |
|---|---|---|
| Spring-Breeze | A lighter option with more health | Newcomers to action games or players who prefer a more forgiving challenge |
| Wild Mode | A greater challenge; the official guide says it awards more Star Coins | Players looking for a tougher experience |
Nintendo says players can change the difficulty at any time, so families do not have to treat the initial choice as permanent. See Nintendo’s gameplay tips for its mode descriptions.

Can two people play Kirby and the Forgotten Land together?
Yes. The game supports same-system co-op: Player 1 controls Kirby, while Player 2 controls Bandana Waddle Dee. The second player can join or leave during play. The documented co-op is local on one system; these official sources do not establish online co-op.
Nintendo’s family guide says each player needs their own Joy-Con controller for this setup. Treat that as the guide’s stated requirement rather than a universal rule for every possible system or controller configuration. Details are in Play Nintendo’s family guide.

The video page concerns Kirby and the Forgotten Land for the Nintendo Switch family. Nintendo’s Kirby site now also lists a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World. Check Nintendo’s current game listing to confirm which edition and platform are available where you live; the existence of a later edition does not change what the overview video itself introduces.
