On a product, it is a mark indicating that the product conforms to applicable technical regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and has completed the conformity-assessment procedures those regulations require. It is a market-compliance mark—not a model number, electronics feature, or general promise of quality.
What EAC tells you—and what it does not
The EAC mark is used for products placed on the EAEU market. The Eurasian Economic Commission describes it as applying to products that meet technical-regulation requirements and have passed the established conformity-assessment procedures (EEC guidance on the EAC mark; EEC 2018 annual report).
The letters do not identify which rules applied to a particular device. Requirements depend on the product and the relevant EAEU technical regulations; there is no single identical checklist for every electronic product (EAEU technical regulations).
- It indicates regulatory conformity: applicable technical regulations and their assessment procedures are the basis for the mark.
- It does not, by itself, tell you the assessment route: that route depends on the applicable regulation and scheme.
- It is not a general quality rating: the mark alone does not establish a device’s durability, performance, or superiority over another product.
How conformity can be assessed
Conformity assessment is the process of determining whether an object meets requirements imposed by technical regulation. The EEC lists several possible forms, including registration, testing, certification, and declaration; the applicable regulations specify the procedures and schemes (EEC conformity-assessment publication).

That variety matters when interpreting the mark: EAC does not mean that every individual device underwent the same laboratory test. Depending on the product and the governing regulation, assessment may follow different procedures. The mark alone is not enough to identify which one was used.
What the mark should look like
EEC guidance allows the letters to appear in Cyrillic or Latin characters. The mark should contrast with its background and remain distinguishable throughout the product’s lifespan. The stated minimum size is 5 mm (EEC guidance on the EAC mark).

Historical figures are not current totals
In a facts publication issued in 2019, the EEC said that 80% of adopted EAEU technical regulations at that time provided for declaration-based conformity assessment. It also reported 984,167 compliance certificates and 5,120,499 registered declarations in the unified register as of early August 2019 (EEC 2019 technical-regulation facts publication). These are dated figures, not live totals or a description of the current share of declarations.

If you need to know exactly what an EAC mark means for one product, identify the product category and consult the technical regulations that apply to it. The letters by themselves do not name those regulations or reveal the conformity documents and procedure used. A general explanation of EAC cannot determine the requirements for a particular device.
