Samsung AR Zone is a collection of augmented-reality camera tools for supported Galaxy phones and tablets—not one app experience that is identical on every device. It can include avatar creation, animated stickers, camera drawings, photo and video effects, and camera-based measuring. On newer supported devices, some tools have moved to Galaxy Avatar in Settings or are available as separate Galaxy Store downloads.
How to open AR Zone
On Galaxy devices where AR Zone is available in Camera, open Camera > More > AR Zone. Samsung notes that menu options and available features can vary by device and software version. Region and carrier can also affect availability.
If AR Zone does not appear in Camera, that alone does not establish that every related feature is unavailable. Check your phone’s Camera modes, Settings > Advanced features, and Galaxy Store for the specific tool you want.

AR Emoji and Galaxy Avatar
These tools let you create and customize a digital avatar, then use it in camera content. Samsung’s newer terminology calls the experience Galaxy Avatar: on supported Galaxy phones and tablets running Android 15 and One UI 7, AR Emoji was renamed Galaxy Avatar. Samsung’s current instructions place Galaxy Avatar under Settings > Advanced features. Depending on the device and software generation, related camera options may still use names such as AR Emoji Camera or Avatar Camera, with modes including Scene, Mask, Mirror, or Play.

AR Emoji Stickers
Personalized animated stickers let you use your avatar in messages. Whether this tool is available, and where it appears, depends on the device and software version.
AR Doodle
AR Doodle lets you draw or write into camera video. Samsung says that on devices running Android 15 and One UI 7, AR Doodle must be downloaded from Galaxy Store. If AR Zone is missing from Camera, Samsung also directs users to download AR Doodle there. You can draw with a finger or a compatible S Pen; the pen is optional.

Deco Pic
Deco Pic adds filters and stickers to photos or videos. Its availability and placement can vary by Galaxy device and software version.
Quick Measure
Quick Measure uses the camera to estimate object sizes and distances. Samsung’s cited guide does not specify measurement accuracy, so use it as a convenient estimate rather than as a substitute for a calibrated measuring instrument.

3D Scanner
Samsung’s US support guide lists 3D Scanner for the Galaxy Note10 and Galaxy S20. Treat it as a model-specific legacy feature, not a capability available across current Galaxy devices.
Why the feature names and menus differ
AR Zone is a broad menu name for a set of Galaxy camera utilities, and Samsung’s instructions show that those tools have shifted across software generations. On supported Android 15 and One UI 7 devices, the AR Emoji experience is called Galaxy Avatar, while AR Doodle is a separate Galaxy Store download. A missing AR Zone shortcut therefore does not by itself prove that avatar or doodle tools are gone.

To check a particular feature, confirm your exact Galaxy model and Android/One UI version, look in Camera and Settings > Advanced features, and search Galaxy Store. Samsung’s regional guidance also notes that carrier and region can affect what is offered. The official instructions do not establish a universal preinstallation, removal, or disabling rule for every model and market.

Do you need an S Pen?
No. Samsung documents both finger and S Pen drawing in AR Doodle, so you do not need to buy a pen to use that feature. If you want to draw with an S Pen, check compatibility with your specific Galaxy device before choosing one.

Does AR Zone work on every Android phone?
Samsung describes AR Zone and these associated utilities as Galaxy phone and tablet features. The documentation cited here does not establish that AR Zone works on non-Samsung Android phones. Availability on Galaxy devices also depends on model, software version, and, in some cases, region or carrier.
