For any option, verify whether it is for buying coins, receiving a cash prize, or receiving a gift card. Also check the minimum, any disclosed fee or payment-medium restriction, required verification, where the payment will be delivered, and whether the receiving account must be in your verified name. - Check the minimum and eligible balance. WOW Vegas lists a minimum of SC 50 for cash redemption and SC 20 for gift cards. Blue WOW Coins have no monetary value and cannot be redeemed.
- Select an available method and follow the prompts. Use only a method displayed for your account, and confirm the destination and any terms before submitting.

A request from an outside person to pay a fee to release a prize is a serious warning sign. The Federal Trade Commission’s advice is direct: “If you have to pay to get your prize, it’s a scam.” The FTC says scammers may demand money by wire transfer, payment app, cash, gift card, or cryptocurrency, and that recovering money sent this way can be difficult. That warning is about paying to claim a prize; it is not the same as an operator’s separately disclosed optional coin purchase. Whether a promotion complies with the law depends on its structure and applicable rules. The FTC’s Telemarketing Sales Rule guidance addresses covered prize-promotion telemarketing: it says consumers must be told that participation or winning is possible without payment, how to enter for free, and relevant odds and material costs. State law also matters. For example, Florida’s 2026 statute says a covered game promotion may not require an entry fee, payment, or proof of purchase as a condition of entry. For covered promotions with total announced prizes over $5,000, it requires the rules and a prize list to be filed at least seven days before the promotion begins. This is a state-specific rule, not a nationwide answer. Florida Statutes §849.094.
The FTC’s January 2026 update reported that 104,820 checks totaling more than $13.5 million were sent in a specific refund program related to a prize scheme; it also described an earlier refund round of more than $10.7 million in 2022.
