Raise to Wake turns on your phone’s display when you lift it, so you can check the lock screen without pressing a button. It wakes the screen; it does not necessarily unlock the phone.
What does Raise to Wake do?
When Raise to Wake is enabled, lifting the phone can wake its display and show the lock screen. Depending on the device, that screen may show the time or notifications. Apple describes raising an iPhone as one way to wake it, and Xiaomi describes its feature as waking the screen when the phone is raised.
On the REDMI Note 14 Pro specifically, Xiaomi says Raise to Wake uses the accelerometer. That model-specific explanation should not be assumed to describe every phone.

No. Waking the display and unlocking the phone are separate actions. Apple’s Face ID instructions say to tap or raise the iPhone to wake it, then glance at it to unlock. What happens after the screen wakes depends on the device’s configured authentication and unlock settings.

Where can you find the setting?
iPhone
Open Settings > Display & Brightness to find the Raise to Wake control. Turn it off there if you do not want the display to wake when you lift the phone. Apple’s iPhone guide also describes raising the device as a way to wake it.
Android phones
Android manufacturers may use different names and menu locations, and the setting can vary by model. Xiaomi’s support instructions place its control under Settings > Lock screen. HONOR advises searching Settings for Wake device or Raise to wake if the location is unclear. Try your phone’s Settings search or consult the manufacturer’s instructions if those paths do not match your device.
