Game of Thrones: Legends is Zynga’s free-to-download mobile match-3 puzzle RPG. You match gems to charge character abilities, build and equip a team of Champions, and play story missions alongside events and multiplayer modes. Its characters and setting draw from both Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon.
How does the puzzle combat work?
Combat combines matching tiles with RPG team choices. Matching gems charges your Champions’ special abilities, and combos can add damage. That means the board is not just a puzzle to clear: matching also helps determine when your team can use its skills.
Team composition and equipment contribute to your approach. Zynga highlights lore-based weapon pairings such as Jon Snow with Longclaw and Arya with Needle, and the official game site emphasizes Champion pairings and ability combinations. Specific abilities and balance can change as the game is updated.

How do you collect and upgrade heroes?
You collect and develop Champions, assemble a team, and equip weapons and gear as you progress. The roster includes characters from different points in the franchise’s television timelines: Zynga names Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, Tyrion Lannister, and Rhaenyra Targaryen among the available Champions. The U.S. App Store listing also describes dragons as part of the collection and says Champions can be paired with them.

For example, a team may combine Champions whose abilities work well together, then use tile matches to charge those abilities during combat. The publisher describes these systems broadly; it does not establish a permanent best-team ranking or fixed ability values.
What are the story missions, events, and multiplayer modes?
The game offers several ways to play. Story missions and story mode provide progression through Westeros, while limited-time challenges and events draw on recognizable moments from the franchise. Zynga cites the Battle of the Bastards as an event example, with Ramsay Bolton or Wun Wun among potential collection rewards.

The U.S. Apple App Store listing describes the game as free to download with optional in-app purchases. It says random-item drop-rate information is available in the app, an internet connection is required, and in-app purchases can be disabled through device settings. Those listing details do not establish how much spending, if any, is needed to progress.

What has Zynga said about future updates?
In a roadmap post dated June 1, 2026, Zynga described work on stability, player experience, event tuning, and progression. It also listed Dragons in PvP, an event tied to House of the Dragon Season 3, auto-completion for levels already beaten, and a new adjacent-targeting mechanic as planned work. The post discussed exploring an official webstore and other potential changes as well.
Zynga explicitly cautioned that the roadmap is not a promise or guarantee. Treat these items as dated plans or explorations, not as confirmed features, unless a later official update says they have been released.
