AlgoCdk is a browser-based Deriv trading platform that lets users upload plain JavaScript objects for indicators and bots. In its documented workflow, you write the strategy logic while AlgoCdk says it handles the chart, WebSocket connection, and trade execution around it. It is a platform-specific integration—not an official Deriv JavaScript SDK.
What AlgoCdk does
AlgoCdk’s version 2 developer guide describes a workflow built around JavaScript functions with names and return values the platform expects. For that workflow, the guide says no imports or build step are needed. Its description is: “You never touch the WebSocket or chart library. Just write the logic inside the functions and return the right values.” That is the vendor’s account of its integration, not an independently verified implementation trace.
The name can be confused with the Algorand JavaScript SDK, but that is a different project: it is for interacting with the Algorand blockchain, not for building Deriv trading indicators or bots.
How JavaScript moves through the workflow
The developer supplies logic; AlgoCdk’s documented platform flow supplies candle data, displays indicator output, and can turn bot signals into trades. The guide describes this sequence: “New candle arrives→ calculate() runs→ draw() renders→ getSignalAt() fires→ Trade placed→ onTradeResult()”.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Indicators: calculate values, optionally draw them
An indicator’s calculate() function receives candle data and returns values for the platform to display. The optional draw() function can use the Canvas 2D API for custom rendering.
The guide says candles are ordered from oldest to newest, with the current candle as the final array element. Documented fields include open, high, low, close, time, and volume. It notes that volume is zero on Deriv synthetic indices, so code that depends on volume should account for that input.

Please note that this hub is compatible with MacBook (macOS 12 and newer), Windows 10 and 11, ChromeOS, and laptops equipped with DP Alt Mode and Power Delivery. Note: This device is not compatible with Linux.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (5-in-1, 4K HDMI), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
Bots: return a signal or no signal
A bot’s getSignalAt() function returns a signal object when its logic identifies a trade opportunity, or null when it does not. In the documented flow, a signal can lead to a trade, and onTradeResult() can be called when the contract settles. The platform guide also lists places to upload code for Strategy Lab bots, Digit Lab bots, and a bot marketplace.
How it differs from using Deriv’s API directly
Deriv’s API is a separate, lower-level option. Deriv describes REST endpoints for account management and WebSocket connections for real-time market data, trading, and account updates. Its documentation also covers authenticated trading operations and automation endpoints. AlgoCdk instead presents a higher-level workflow in which users upload platform-shaped JavaScript objects and the platform says it manages charting and WebSocket communication.

| Consideration | AlgoCdk documented workflow | Direct Deriv API |
|---|---|---|
| Charting and connection plumbing | AlgoCdk says it handles charting and WebSocket communication around the user’s logic. AlgoCdk developer guide | Deriv documents REST and WebSocket API building blocks; the developer builds the integration using them. Deriv API overview |
| What the developer builds | Upload a plain JavaScript object using the platform’s functions and expected return values. AlgoCdk developer guide | Build a client that uses Deriv’s API endpoints and authenticated operations. Deriv API overview |
| Authorization | AlgoCdk support says users can connect by OAuth or API token. Confirm permissions on the authorization flow. AlgoCdk support | Protected calls require appropriate authorization. Deriv documents OAuth as a way for a third-party app to access resources without receiving the user’s password or permanent API token. Deriv authentication documentation |
| Execution and integration control | The platform’s documented flow connects bot signals to trades; the guide does not establish a comparative level of control. AlgoCdk developer guide | Deriv’s API exposes direct building blocks for trading and account interactions; comparative reliability, latency, and safety are not established by these descriptions. Deriv API overview |
The practical distinction is where you want to write integration code. AlgoCdk’s format lets you focus on platform-defined strategy functions; direct API development means building against Deriv’s documented interfaces. The available documentation does not establish that AlgoCdk is maintained by Deriv or that its implementation has been independently audited.
Connecting an account and handling authorization
AlgoCdk support describes OAuth and API-token connection options. Deriv’s authentication documentation says protected API calls require appropriate authorization and explains OAuth as a way for an app to access resources without receiving a user’s password or permanent API token. Review the requested permissions and use the official account authorization screens. These descriptions do not amount to an independent security assessment of AlgoCdk.

Backtesting and the limits of what it proves
AlgoCdk describes replaying bots against historical data, and its tools page says its backtesting feature uses Deriv tick history and displays entries and trade history. A historical simulation can help inspect how code behaved against past data; it does not establish that the strategy will perform similarly in future markets or be profitable. The vendor’s backtesting description is not an independent audit of simulation validity, and no independently sourced performance result is established here.

Sample bot code and signal fields are not evidence of a validated probability of success. A bot that can place trades should be treated as software that can lose money, not as a guarantee that a signal will be right.
