When Apple One ends, Apple Music catalog access ends after the subscription expires, while the effect on iCloud depends on the storage capacity that remains on your Apple Account. If your stored data is over that limit, iCloud syncing and backups can stop until you free space or increase storage. Check the displayed expiration date, iCloud plan and storage use before the change.
When does access change?
Submitting a cancellation and reaching the subscription’s expiration date are different moments. Check the date shown in your subscription settings; Apple says Apple Music catalog access changes after the subscription expires, not necessarily when you submit a cancellation. What happens to Apple Music and your library?
After Apple Music expires, songs from the Apple Music catalog can no longer be played. Playlists added from the catalog or created using catalog music become unavailable, and Sync Library turns off. Apple’s Apple Music cancellation guidance distinguishes that subscription-dependent content from music and playlists that were already on your device before you subscribed; those remain available.
This does not mean that every locally owned music file or playlist is erased. However, Apple does not promise that downloaded catalog songs remain playable after expiration.

What happens to iCloud storage?
Check which iCloud storage plan will remain when Apple One ends, then compare its capacity with your current iCloud usage. If usage exceeds the new plan’s limit, Apple says iCloud won’t sync or update information and iCloud backups won’t complete. Those functions resume when you increase storage or remove enough data to fit. Apple’s iCloud+ downgrade guidance says a downgrade takes effect after the current billing period ends and advises downloading or removing content above the new capacity beforehand.
The documented consequence is interrupted syncing, updates and backups when storage is over capacity—not immediate deletion of all iCloud data. Check your account’s storage details and any notices Apple displays rather than assuming a specific retention timeline.

Check separate iCloud+ storage and Apple Accounts
A separate iCloud+ subscription can affect the storage available to you. Apple says customers paying for both Apple One and iCloud+ can cancel or downgrade the separate plan and use the storage included with Apple One. When assessing what capacity remains after Apple One ends, check whether a separate plan is active and what its terms are.

What about Apple TV+, Arcade, News+ and Fitness+?
Which services Apple One includes depends on the plan and region. Apple says existing subscriptions to services included in Apple One—except iCloud+—are automatically canceled when the customer is billed for Apple One. That describes the transition into the bundle; it does not establish a universal post-expiration data-retention or deletion timeline for each service. Check your account’s subscription details for what is included and when access ends. Apple’s India Apple One page lists regional plan examples, and Apple notes that availability and features vary by country or region.

Before Apple One expires: a quick checklist
- Open your subscription settings, note the displayed Apple One expiration date, and confirm which Apple Account is billed.
- In iCloud settings, check current storage use, the plan expected to remain and whether a separate iCloud+ subscription is active.
- If your data exceeds the expected capacity, remove or download content before the change, or arrange enough storage. Over-capacity use can interrupt syncing and prevent backups from completing.
- If you rely on Apple Music, distinguish catalog songs and playlists from music already on your device before subscribing; do not count on catalog downloads remaining playable.
- If iCloud and media purchases use different Apple Accounts, verify which account receives Apple One storage.
