Actor traits and requests affect casting: they determine which roles, fellow performers and costumes count as a suitable assignment. For example, an actor who wants a princess role cannot simply be placed in any available part; the cast must be arranged around that request.
How actor requests shape role assignments
In I Want To Play The Villain, casting is a constraint puzzle. Actors may request a princess role or a non-royal character, so choosing a role means checking whether it fits that actor’s preference as well as the needs of the rest of the cast. Pocket Gamer’s first-impressions review describes the central task as matching actors to roles while keeping them happy. Pocket Gamer’s review
The requests affect the assignment, not—based on that review—the story or an actor’s abilities. Treat each preference as a condition the cast needs to satisfy.
How company and costume requests add constraints
Who will perform together
Some actors will not perform alongside particular people. A role can suit an actor and still leave the overall cast invalid if that actor is paired with someone they refuse to work with. This makes the puzzle about arranging the company as a whole, rather than selecting each actor independently.

Which costume style an actor wants
Other requests concern costume style. In levels with a limited costume supply, you must account for both who wears which costume and who fills each role. Role, company and costume conditions can therefore compete for the available assignments.
How to use the game’s feedback
The review reports a green comedy-mask indicator for a fitting assignment and a red tragedy-mask indicator for a mismatch. It also says there is no fail state: you can rearrange the cast until the requests are satisfied. Use the indicators to identify mismatches, then adjust the affected actors, roles or costumes rather than treating one placement as permanent.

How later levels vary the casting puzzle
The review describes levels that expand beyond a standard four-person cast. Some add scenes; story snippets let players change characters or roles within a play; and some levels limit the costume supply. These variations add assignment conditions, but the core task remains making the cast fit its requests.
