Vultr Ubuntu/Linux VPS पर FFmpeg को systemd service के रूप में चलाएँ और Restart=always सेट करें। इससे FFmpeg process बंद होने पर systemd उसे फिर शुरू कर सकता है। लेकिन process का जीवित रहना यह साबित नहीं करता कि YouTube पर वीडियो चल रहा है: अटकी हुई stream पकड़ने के लिए अलग progress/health जाँच और YouTube Live Control Room में सत्यापन चाहिए।
समाधान क्या संभालता है—और क्या नहीं
VPS पर FFmpeg वीडियो को YouTube Live तक भेजता है; systemd उस process की निगरानी करके exit होने पर उसे दोबारा शुरू कर सकता है। Vultr का streaming server guide Ubuntu पर streaming setup का संदर्भ देता है और FFmpeg documentation उसके command-line व्यवहार का आधिकारिक विवरण देती है।

केवल restart policy silent freeze को पहचानने की गारंटी नहीं देती। YouTube भी event के दौरान stream health देखने और संदेशों की समीक्षा करने को कहता है (encoder settings).
शुरू करने से पहले
- Vultr VPS पर Ubuntu/Linux और systemd उपलब्ध हो। नीचे के आदेश systemd वाले Linux के लिए हैं; अपने distro के package नाम, FFmpeg का सही path और media file का path जाँचें।
- FFmpeg इंस्टॉल हो और input video पढ़ने तथा VPS से बाहर YouTube तक भेजने की अनुमति हो।
- YouTube Live Control Room से stream key लें। YouTube के अनुसार, “Stream keys are like your YouTube stream’s password and address.” इसे सार्वजनिक script या repository में न रखें। YouTube stream settings में जरूरत पड़ने पर key reset कर सकते हैं।
- आपके source और VPS की उपलब्ध upload capacity पर्याप्त हो। YouTube की सलाह है कि कुल stream bitrate उपलब्ध upload bandwidth से अधिक न हो और लगभग 20% headroom रखा जाए (streaming tips).
Stream key को सुरक्षित configuration में रखें
नीचे का उदाहरण अलग, सीमित permissions वाली environment file का उपयोग करता है ताकि key को FFmpeg command line में सीधे न लिखा जाए। VPS पर SSH से अपने सामान्य sudo-capable खाते में login करके ये आदेश चलाएँ; यदि आपके distro में account या directory पहले से है, तो उसे दोबारा बनाने की जरूरत नहीं।

sudo nano /etc/ffmpeg-live/stream.envफ़ाइल में यह पंक्ति जोड़ें और YOUR_STREAM_KEY को अपनी key से बदलें:
STREAM_KEY=YOUR_STREAM_KEYफ़ाइल save करें। यह उदाहरण key को systemd environment के जरिए service तक पहुँचाता है; access केवल root और चुने गए service group तक सीमित है। अपने VPS पर लिखे गए configuration की ownership और permissions जाँचें। Key को सार्वजनिक logs, shell history, साझा scripts या repository में न डालें। अगर key reset की है, तो इस फ़ाइल में नई key दर्ज करके service restart करें।
FFmpeg के लिए systemd service बनाएँ
यह उदाहरण एक looping video को YouTube ingest URL पर भेजता है। /usr/bin/ffmpeg और /srv/video/stream.mp4 अपने सिस्टम के वास्तविक paths से बदलें। YouTube Live Control Room में दिखाए गए ingest URL और अपने event की settings से URL format की पुष्टि करें। -re input को उसके सामान्य playback rate पर पढ़ता है, -stream_loop -1 input दोहराता है और -nostdin background service में console input जाँचने से बचाता है। FFmpeg FAQ background task के लिए -nostdin का यही उपयोग बताती है (FFmpeg FAQ).

WantedBy=multi-user.targetयह illustrative H.264, 30 fps command है, YouTube या Vultr की performance guarantee नहीं। उदाहरण में 4,500 kbps video bitrate चुनी गई है; अपनी resolution, source, ingest और VPS capacity के अनुरूप इसे बदलें। YouTube की प्रकाशित encoder guidance 720p30 H.264 के लिए 3–8 Mbps recommended bitrate बताती है। वह YouTube की सिफारिश है, हर input या VPS पर गुणवत्ता अथवा स्थिरता की गारंटी नहीं।
Bitrate, frame rate और keyframe interval मिलाएँ
YouTube encoder settings RTMP/RTMPS, H.264/H.265/AV1 विकल्पों, CBR और अधिकतम 60 fps तक frame rate के बारे में guidance देती हैं। अपनी चुनी हुई ingest और YouTube की मौजूदा event settings के अनुसार codec व output format चुनें। दिए गए command में bitrate स्थिर रखने के लिए -b:v और -maxrate समान हैं; यह YouTube की CBR recommendation को लक्षित करता है।

YouTube keyframe frequency 2 सेकंड सुझाता है और 4 सेकंड से अधिक न रखने को कहता है। 30 fps पर -g 60 दो सेकंड का GOP देता है; 60 fps source पर दो सेकंड के लिए GOP आम तौर पर 120 frames होगा। वास्तविक output frame rate और keyframe cadence जाँचें, खासकर यदि source variable frame rate हो या अलग output options लगाए हों।
Service को load और शुरू करें
sudo systemctl daemon-reload
sudo systemctl enable --now ffmpeg-youtube.service
sudo systemctl status ffmpeg-youtube.service --no-pageractive (running) का अर्थ है कि systemd के अनुसार process चल रहा है—यह अपने आप में YouTube पर live video आने का प्रमाण नहीं। Service log देखने के लिए:
sudo journalctl -u ffmpeg-youtube.service -fFFmpeg की त्रुटि या बार-बार restart दिखे तो log में input path, permissions, codec, ingest URL, stream key और network errors देखें। Unit या configuration बदलने के बाद daemon-reload चलाएँ और service restart करें:

- YouTube Live Control Room में event खोलें और देखें कि incoming stream आ रही है तथा stream-health संकेत सामान्य है। YouTube event के दौरान stream health monitor करने और messages पढ़ने की सलाह देता है।
- Public या unlisted watch page खोलकर पुष्टि करें कि वीडियो वास्तव में चल रहा है, केवल service process नहीं। जरूरत हो तो दूसरे browser या network से भी जाँचें।
- अगर Control Room पर signal नहीं आता, तो journal में FFmpeg output देखें। Key reset हुई हो तो configuration file अपडेट कर service restart करें; URL, outbound connectivity, input file access और चुने गए encoder parameters भी जाँचें।
Silent freeze के लिए progress watchdog जोड़ें
Restart=always तब उपयोगी है जब FFmpeg exit करता है। यदि process जीवित है लेकिन frames या output आगे नहीं बढ़ रहे, systemd का सामान्य restart policy उस स्थिति को अपने आप पहचानने की गारंटी नहीं देता। इसके लिए FFmpeg progress को नियमित रूप से पढ़ने वाला watchdog चाहिए, जो प्रगति निर्धारित समय तक न बदले तो service restart करे; साथ ही YouTube Live Control Room के stream-health संकेत देखें।
Watchdog की timeout अवधि source frame rate, network jitter और अपेक्षित buffering के अनुसार तय करनी होगी। बहुत छोटी timeout सामान्य अस्थायी रुकावट पर अनावश्यक restart करा सकती है; बहुत लंबी timeout freeze के बाद recovery देर से कराएगी। Progress जाँच को वास्तविक stream-health की जगह न मानें: process में progress हो सकती है, जबकि YouTube पर ingest या playback में समस्या हो।

- Service start नहीं होती:
systemctl statusऔरjournalctlमें unit syntax, executable path, input permissions और EnvironmentFile की त्रुटि खोजें। - गलत key या key reset: YouTube Live Control Room से सही key/configuration की पुष्टि करें, restricted env file अपडेट करें और service restart करें। Key को सार्वजनिक रूप से साझा न करें।
- Upload capacity कम या network अस्थिर: video और audio का कुल bitrate उपलब्ध upload से नीचे रखें और लगभग 20% headroom का लक्ष्य रखें। YouTube चेतावनी देता है कि network disruption stream तोड़ सकता है (streaming tips).
- FFmpeg running, पर YouTube output अटका: केवल systemd restart policy पर निर्भर न रहें। Progress watchdog, YouTube stream-health संदेश और watch page की जाँच साथ करें।
- Stream असामान्य रूप से समाप्त या archive हुई: systemd का process restart YouTube event lifecycle को नियंत्रित नहीं करता। YouTube के encoder instructions के अनुसार 12 घंटे से छोटी streams स्वतः archive होंगी; अपने channel और event setup में निरंतर stream तथा archive व्यवहार सत्यापित करें (YouTube encoder instructions).
लंबे समय तक चलने वाली stream: event और content जाँचें
FFmpeg को फिर शुरू कर पाना YouTube की stream lifecycle, archive व्यवहार या content rules का विकल्प नहीं है। लंबी अवधि की stream के लिए अपने channel के Live Control Room और event setup में जाँचें कि stream अपेक्षित रूप से जारी रह रही है। जिस वीडियो को loop कर रहे हैं, उसके अधिकार और YouTube की live तथा monetization policies की समीक्षा करें; automated restart किसी अधिकार-संबंधी या reused-content समस्या को हल नहीं करता।
