The vivo X300 FE and POCO C85 5G target very different buyers: the X300 FE is a compact, flagship-class phone, while the C85 5G is presented in comparison listings as a budget phone with a larger screen. The X300 FE has stronger listed specifications for its display, cameras, processing and software support, but costs far more. Because the available POCO specifications and comparison-page prices are not confirmed by POCO, check the exact Indian variant and live price before deciding.

Price difference: compare the same variant at checkout
vivo Newsroom India’s 12 August 2026 announcement lists the X300 FE at ₹84,999 for 8GB+256GB, ₹89,999 for 12GB+256GB, and ₹99,999 for 12GB+512GB. The 8GB+256GB model was announced as available from 12 August 2026 through Flipkart, Amazon, vivo India’s e-store, and retail partners in India. The release says offers and availability may vary by platform and retailer, and that terms apply. Check vivo’s announcement for the manufacturer’s stated prices and availability.

Those are comparison-page retailer prices, not a confirmed current manufacturer price pair; the vivo figure does not match the prices in vivo’s August 2026 announcement. For a fair comparison, match RAM and storage where possible and calculate each phone’s final checkout price after applicable bank, exchange, or retailer offers. vivo’s India e-store has also listed the 12GB+256GB X300 FE at ₹89,999, but store prices can change. Check vivo India’s e-store listing for current availability and configuration.
Which phone is better for performance and everyday use?
On the listed specifications, the X300 FE is the higher-tier choice: it uses a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, while the comparison page names a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 for the C85 5G. That points to different performance tiers, but it does not establish how either phone performs in particular games, apps, or sustained workloads. No independently documented head-to-head testing is available here.
Choose based on the tasks you actually do. If demanding apps and games, a more capable platform, and a compact phone matter enough to justify the higher price, the X300 FE is the more relevant option on paper. If your priority is a lower purchase price and a larger display, the C85 5G may fit better—but verify its exact Indian model and specifications with POCO or the seller before relying on comparison-page data.

Display and size: compact AMOLED or a larger LCD?
The X300 FE’s 6.31-inch AMOLED display is substantially smaller than the 6.9-inch IPS LCD listed for the C85 5G. The vivo screen is specified at 2640 × 1216 and 120Hz, with vivo listing 5000-nit local peak brightness. The POCO screen type and size come from 91mobiles, not an official POCO source.
That makes the practical trade-off clear: the X300 FE is the more compact option, while the larger POCO screen offers more viewing area according to the comparison listing. Screen size and panel type alone do not establish brightness in everyday conditions, color accuracy, or viewing quality.
Cameras: the X300 FE has a more versatile listed setup
vivo lists three rear cameras on the X300 FE: a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 50MP telephoto camera with OIS, and an 8MP wide-angle camera. Its 50MP front camera has autofocus. The comparison page lists a 50MP primary rear camera and an 8MP front camera for the C85 5G.

The X300 FE therefore has more camera types specified, including a dedicated telephoto camera, and OIS on both the main and telephoto cameras. These are hardware distinctions, not proof of better photos or video in every situation; no comparative camera tests are established here.

Battery, charging, and durability
vivo specifies a 6,500mAh typical battery capacity and a 6,350mAh minimum/rated capacity for the X300 FE. It lists 90W wired FlashCharge and 40W wireless FlashCharge. vivo says 90W wired charging requires the original charger and cable, and actual charging power varies with conditions and use. The battery and charging figures shown for the POCO on the comparison page have not been verified against an official POCO source, so they are not a sound basis for a direct capacity or charging-speed verdict.
vivo says the X300 FE’s IP68 and IP69 ratings are based on IEC 60529 tests in controlled laboratory conditions. The company warns that resistance can lessen with wear, advises against immersing the phone during daily use, and says liquid-ingress damage is not covered by warranty. The ratings do not mean the phone is waterproof. vivo lists a phone case and power adapter in the box. It also warns that third-party tempered-glass protectors may interfere with ultrasonic fingerprint recognition, so check compatibility before fitting one. Read vivo’s product specifications for its stated limitations.

Software support: distinguish manufacturer promises from listing data
The X300 FE runs OriginOS 6. vivo Newsroom India states five years of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates, counted from the local launch date; delivery also depends on updates from the Android licensor/developer. The C85 5G’s Android 15 version and two-year OS-update figure are listed by 91mobiles, but an official POCO update commitment is not confirmed here.
If long-term support matters to your purchase, verify the POCO policy directly with POCO for the exact Indian model rather than treating the comparison-page figure as a manufacturer guarantee.

Which should you buy?
Choose the vivo X300 FE if
- You want a compact phone with a 6.31-inch AMOLED display.
- You value the higher-tier processor and a listed rear-camera system that includes OIS on the main and telephoto cameras.
- vivo’s stated update-support period and wireless charging matter to you, and the higher price fits your budget.
Consider the POCO C85 5G if
- A lower price and the larger 6.9-inch screen listed by 91mobiles matter more than compact size or the X300 FE’s higher-tier specifications.
- You are willing to confirm the precise Indian SKU, RAM and storage, current seller price, specifications, and update policy before purchase.
Neither set of specifications proves real-world battery life, camera quality, or speed. Base the decision on verified listings and the features you will use, rather than assuming a spec sheet is a performance test.
