A week-long hands-on review praised its camera output and battery life, but also noted a visible crease, sluggish-feeling fold transitions, and background app management that may delay notifications. The buying decision depends heavily on your country and model: software, support, availability, and price differ by region.
What the vivo X Fold6 offers
The X Fold6 is positioned as a flagship foldable rather than a conventional phone with a larger screen. vivo’s India configuration pairs 12GB of RAM with 512GB of storage and a Dimensity 9500 Super Edition processor. The practical appeal is having a phone-like cover screen for ordinary tasks and a larger interior screen for work that benefits from space. The reviewer at TechRadar described the cover screen as phone-like and used the device as a main phone for a week, but the available hands-on account is not a controlled comparison with other foldables.
How well does multitasking work?
Multitasking is one of the X Fold6’s clearest intended use cases. vivo names Origin Workbench and cross-app AI tools among its software features. In TechRadar’s review, the inner display could show up to four resizable apps in split view alongside a floating fifth app. That is a description of the reviewer’s experience; how useful it is will depend on the apps and workflow you use.

There is a trade-off between flexibility and polish. The same reviewer reported that opening or closing the phone could feel slow, with a brief blank screen during the transition. TechRadar’s reviewer praised the photographs after a week with the phone. That is encouraging hands-on feedback, but it is a subjective assessment rather than a controlled camera comparison across lighting conditions and competing phones. The reviewer also described the camera bump as divisive, so consider whether its size and handling are acceptable to you rather than judging the system by megapixel and zoom claims alone.

For the India model, vivo lists a 6,900mAh typical battery capacity and a 6,670mAh rated capacity. The company claims up to 80W FlashCharge when using the original charger and cable, and its India launch announcement also specifies 40W wireless charging. The TechRadar reviewer said they were getting two days per charge under heavy personal use. Treat that as one person’s anecdotal experience, not a battery-life result you can expect under a different workload, network, or settings.
Software, updates and regional model differences
Do not assume every X Fold6 sold under the same name has the same software. GSMArena identifies its global review unit as model V2559, with Android 17 and OriginOS 7 Fold plus Google Play services. It contrasts that with Chinese model V2545A, which launched with Android 16 and OriginOS 6 Fold and had not received the newer software over-the-air update at the time of its review.

GSMArena reports that vivo promised the global version five major Android updates and seven years of security patches.
