Neither phone wins every category. The vivo T5x 5G has more screen pixels, the higher-tier listed chipset and a 32 MP front camera. The realme 16T 5G has the larger battery, the faster 144 Hz display and a slightly higher wired charging rating. A firm price gap cannot be set from the listings checked for this comparison, so compare live prices for the same storage configuration before you buy.

Full specification comparison

The vivo figures come from vivo’s India product page and its Store India listing. The realme figures come from realme’s India product page, with some details taken from a 91mobiles comparison page. Where realme’s own page was silent, the table says so rather than filling the gap.

Display: more pixels or more motion?

The two screens trade differently. The vivo T5x has a 6.76-inch panel at FHD+ resolution, which means roughly 2.3 times the total pixels of the realme’s HD+ listing. The realme 16T is slightly larger at 6.81 inches and refreshes at 144 Hz, against vivo’s 120 Hz.

Pixel density matters most on text, photos and video detail. A higher refresh rate matters most in scrolling and fast-moving games. If you read a lot on your phone, the vivo’s sharper panel is the more meaningful difference. If smooth motion is the priority, the realme’s 144 Hz figure is the stronger number on paper. Neither source reports measured brightness or colour accuracy, so the comparison stops at listed specifications.

Performance: what the chipset names do and do not tell you

vivo lists the T5x with the MediaTek Dimensity 7400-Turbo, while 91mobiles lists the realme 16T with the Dimensity 6300. On the published names, vivo sits higher in MediaTek’s lineup. That is a specification-level distinction only. The sources checked did not include a controlled head-to-head benchmark, so no measured speed gap should be assumed.

realme’s India page states that the 16T delivers “a rock-solid 60FPS experience in mainstream games.” This is realme’s own claim about its phone. No independent frame-rate test of this phone was found in the sources checked. Treat it as a marketing statement, and expect your results to depend on the game, its settings and the phone’s thermal behaviour.

Battery life and charging

The realme 16T has the larger nominal battery at 8000 mAh, compared with 7200 mAh on the vivo T5x. Its wired charging rating is 45W against vivo’s 44W, a difference of one watt that is unlikely to change charging time in practice.

IP68 & IP69 Dust and Water Resistance help X300 Pro to handle rain, dust, or wet hands.

Battery capacity is only one input to endurance. Screen resolution, refresh rate, processor efficiency and software all affect how long a charge lasts. vivo’s page includes playback and gaming battery figures, but it says they come from its laboratory and that actual performance may vary by software version, environment, model and user habits. realme’s page makes no comparable endurance statement that could be checked against independent testing. Neither phone’s battery life should be assumed from capacity alone.

Cameras: resolution is not image quality

Both phones list 50 MP main cameras. vivo adds a 2 MP bokeh sensor and a 32 MP front camera. realme lists a 16 MP front camera. Megapixel counts describe sensor resolution, not how a photo looks. Sensor size, lens quality, processing and night performance decide that, and the sources checked do not compare those for these two phones. For selfies, the vivo’s 32 MP listing is the higher number, but it is still a specification, not a tested result.

Price difference: why no firm number yet

The sources checked do not establish a reliable price difference between these two phones. The vivo Store India page showed different amounts for different configurations and availability states, and the 91mobiles comparison page displayed Amazon prices that may not match the same date or storage configuration. realme’s India page did not show a current price. A claimed gap of a few thousand rupees would therefore not be verified here.

To compare prices properly:

  1. Choose the same memory and storage on both phones. For vivo, the listed options are 6 GB + 128 GB, 8 GB + 128 GB and 8 GB + 256 GB. For realme, confirm the configurations on a retailer page, because they were not confirmed from official sources.
  2. Open the live vivo Store India listing and the realme listing on the retailer you plan to use, and note the date and any displayed offer.
  3. Check what is included. vivo’s box contains a charger, a case and an applied protective film, so a bundled case may reduce the need for a separate accessory.
  4. Compare the final amount after bank offers, exchange values or coupons, not just the list price shown on a comparison site such as 91mobiles.
  5. Recheck the prices on the day you order, since both listings can change.

Durability and water resistance

vivo markets the T5x with IP68 and IP69+ ratings. Its headline reads “IP68 & IP69+ Top-Rated Dust and Water Resistance,” but the same page adds: “This product is not a professional waterproof phone.” These ratings describe performance under controlled laboratory conditions, and vivo says resistance may decline with use. Keep the phone out of water unless you have confirmed the specifics for your situation. The sources checked did not state a durability rating for the realme 16T.

Which one should you choose?

The better phone depends on which specification matters most to you. Use these rules as a starting point:

  • Choose the vivo T5x 5G if sharper text and video, a 32 MP front camera, a listed IP68/IP69+ rating and a bundled case and protector matter more to you than battery capacity.
  • Choose the realme 16T 5G if you want the larger 8000 mAh battery, the 144 Hz refresh rate and the slightly higher wired charging rating, and you can accept an HD+ display.
  • Decide on price only after you have compared the same storage configuration on live listings. If the prices are close, the specification differences above should settle the choice.

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
