The vivo T4 5G launched INR 4,500 above the vivo T4R 5G in every matching RAM and storage configuration. In return, the T4 specifies a larger battery and faster maximum charging; the T4R is lighter and carries higher published water- and dust-resistance ratings. Both list the same display size, resolution and refresh rate. The prices below are historical launch prices, not current street prices.

Specifications are from vivo’s official T4 parameter page and T4R parameter page. They describe manufacturer-listed hardware and software, not independent comparative test results.
How much more did the vivo T4 cost at launch?
At launch in India, the T4 was INR 4,500 more than the T4R for each corresponding storage configuration. The T4 sale began April 29, 2025; the T4R sale began August 5, 2025.

Battery and charging: T4 has the larger numbers
vivo lists a 7,300 mAh typical battery and maximum 90 W FlashCharge for the T4, against 5,700 mAh typical and maximum 44 W FlashCharge for the T4R. The T4’s battery is therefore larger on paper, and its stated peak charging rate is higher. These are manufacturer specifications rather than independently measured battery-life or charging-time comparisons. vivo notes that actual charging power is dynamically adjusted and depends on use, so the maximum figure does not mean the phone charges at that rate throughout a session.
Battery capacity alone cannot establish how long either phone will last in a particular person’s routine. Screen brightness, connectivity, workload and other settings affect consumption; no controlled head-to-head battery test is established by these specifications.

Display: same size, resolution and refresh rate
Both phones list a 6.77-inch AMOLED display with 2392 × 1080 resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. vivo gives the T4 a 5,000-nit local peak brightness claim; for the T4R, it lists 1,800-nit local peak brightness and 1,300-nit HBM. Those brightness figures use different stated categories and should not be treated as a direct, like-for-like test of everyday screen brightness.
Durability and handling: T4R is lighter and has higher ingress ratings
The T4R’s listed weight is 183.5 g, compared with 199 g for the T4, a 15.5 g difference according to vivo’s specifications. For a lighter phone, the T4R has the advantage on paper.

vivo lists IP68 and IP69 for the T4R, versus IP65 for the T4. These ratings indicate different levels of tested ingress protection, but they do not guarantee that a phone cannot be damaged by water or dust. vivo says the T4’s resistance may diminish with wear and tear, and its T4R rating is based on controlled test conditions. Do not treat either rating as permission for careless exposure or as a warranty against liquid damage.

The T4 uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 3, while the T4R uses MediaTek’s Dimensity 7400. Chip names alone do not establish which phone is faster in everyday use, gaming or sustained workloads. The available official specifications do not provide an independent, controlled comparison using the same benchmark, software and test conditions, so a categorical performance winner is not supported.

Both list a 50 MP Sony IMX882 main rear camera with optical image stabilization and a 32 MP front camera. The T4 specification page also lists a 2 MP bokeh camera; the T4R overview depicts a bokeh camera, while its parameter listing identifies the main camera. The front-camera apertures differ: f/2.0 on T4 and f/2.45 on T4R. These specifications do not substitute for comparable photo and video testing, so they do not establish that one takes better pictures.

Which phone should you choose?
- Choose the T4 if battery capacity and charging specifications are your priority. It lists the larger typical battery and higher maximum wired charging figure.
- Choose the T4R if lower launch cost, lower weight or stronger published ingress protection matters more. It launched INR 4,500 below the matching T4 configuration, is listed as 15.5 g lighter, and has IP68/IP69 ratings.
- Do not pay extra solely on an assumed speed or camera advantage. The chipset and camera component lists do not supply independent, like-for-like results.
- Compare current prices by identical configuration. The official figures above are historical launch prices, and current street prices may differ.
