text/uri-list is a text format for sending one or more URIs in an HTTP request body. It does not determine where the request goes. In fetch(), put the destination endpoint in the first argument, set Content-Type in the options, and send the URI-list text as the body.
Basic one-URL request
Use the method and endpoint required by the receiving API. This example sends one URL as a single URI-list entry:

const result = await response.text();The endpoint shown is illustrative, not a guaranteed working API. The server must explicitly accept text/uri-list, and its method, authentication, CORS policy and response format are endpoint-specific.
What each part of fetch() means

Do not put the submitted URL in the Content-Type header. A header describes the body; it is not a second request destination.

Formatting a text/uri-list body
RFC 2483 defines the format as a line-oriented list intended for automatic processing. Use one URI per line and terminate lines with CRLF (rn).
- One non-comment line represents one URI.
- A line beginning with
#is a comment. - Do not wrap a long URI across multiple lines.
- A leading
#cannot be used to include a URI fragment; it makes the line a comment.

});The receiving service decides whether multiple entries are allowed and how they are processed. A service may accept only one URI even though the media type supports a list.

When the URL belongs in the fetch destination instead
If your goal is to retrieve a resource at a URL, use that URL as the first argument to fetch(). Do not send it as a text/uri-list body unless the target service specifically requires the URL as submitted data.

javascript: is not a Content-Type value
A javascript: URL is a navigation mechanism that executes script in a document context. It is unrelated to the HTTP Content-Type header and is not a substitute for either the fetch destination or a URI-list body. Such links also have security, accessibility and usability drawbacks.
Validate URI-list input before processing it
Treat every submitted URI as untrusted input. Automatically dereferencing entries can disclose sensitive locations or trigger consequential actions. Before opening or fetching a URI, the server or client should apply an explicit policy.

https. - Reject unexpected destinations, local-network targets and dangerous schemes.
- Parse and validate each line independently.
- Do not automatically fetch a URI merely because it appeared in a list.
- Apply authentication, authorization, rate limits and audit logging appropriate to the operation.
Checklist before deploying
- Confirm the endpoint URL and required HTTP method.
- Verify that the endpoint accepts
text/uri-listrather than JSON, form data or another media type. - Send one URI per line with CRLF line endings.
- Check authentication and browser CORS requirements.
- Confirm how the server reports validation errors and returns success.
- Validate and constrain every URI before any automatic retrieval or action.
