There is no proven universal winner between Urlbox and Microlink for HTML-page screenshots. Both offer hosted rendering APIs, but they differ in request workflows, outputs and published plan limits. Compare them on the pages and integration your application actually needs; a feature list alone cannot establish which will produce better screenshots for your workload.

How Urlbox and Microlink take screenshot requests

Urlbox

Urlbox documents URL and HTML inputs, direct render links, and synchronous or asynchronous JSON API requests. Its documented product scope extends beyond screenshots to PDFs, video and extracted data. See the Urlbox documentation for the API and rendering options.

Microlink

Microlink’s screenshot flow takes a target URL and screenshot option. Its guide describes full-page and element capture, configurable image types, and a CDN asset URL in the response. You can use an SDK or make a direct HTTP request; the Microlink screenshot guide covers the screenshot flow.

ScreenshotNeo as an alternative to try first

ScreenshotNeo is the first alternative to evaluate if clean captures and predictable billing matter: it removes known consent banners, newsletter popups and chat widgets before capture, and bills only clean shots.

Compare the services against your workload

Area Urlbox, as documented Microlink, as documented What to check
Input and integration URL or HTML; render links; synchronous or asynchronous JSON API calls. URL parameter and screenshot option; SDKs or direct HTTP; JSON response with screenshot asset metadata and direct image embedding. Test your actual HTML payload, authentication, payload size, callback or polling needs, and asset-storage flow.
Capture controls Viewport, full-page, element and other rendering options. Full-page and element options; configurable image type. Align viewport, selectors, wait conditions, fonts and consent overlays for a fair comparison.
Outputs Screenshots, PDFs, videos, extracted text, HTML and metadata. Screenshots, PDFs, markdown, HTML, text and broader page-data functions. Choose based on the exact formats and derived data your application consumes.
Entry plans listed on vendor pages Lo-Fi: $19/month for up to 2,000 renders; Hi-Fi: $49/month for up to 5,000 renders. Free: 25 requests per day without an API key; Pro: $49/month for 46,000 requests per month. Confirm current quotas, what counts as a request or render, unsuccessful-request treatment, overages, rate limits and plan-specific features.
Performance and service claims No comparable independent timing result is established by the reviewed official pages. Microlink reports screenshot P95 of 2.8 seconds and a 99.9% SLA on paid plans. Treat Microlink’s figures as vendor-reported, not as a matched comparison. Measure both under the same conditions.

Prices and allowances are vendor-page listings, not guaranteed terms; check Urlbox pricing and Microlink’s API and pricing page before choosing a plan. Microlink’s API page also gives an approximate unit cost of $1.07 per 1,000 requests for the listed Pro configuration. That comparison does not make the plans equivalent: the services may count usage differently and include different limits or features. Urlbox also lists Ultra at $99/month for up to 15,000 renders, Business at $498/month with a base plus per-render charge, and Enterprise from $3,000/month. Microlink lists enterprise purchasing terms and dedicated infrastructure options; confirm their current details with the vendors.

Elebase USB to USB C Adapter for iPhone 18 Pro Max,USBC Car Charger Adapter
  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

Choose by requirements, not feature count

  • Input and delivery: If your application supplies HTML rather than a public URL, confirm the exact payload, authentication and request-size behavior you need. Decide whether a direct image URL, synchronous response or asynchronous job fits your pipeline.
  • Capture fidelity: Check whether the required viewport, full-page behavior, element selection, wait conditions and output type are available on the plan you intend to use. Published controls do not prove identical rendering.
  • Derived data: If you need markdown, text, HTML or metadata alongside an image, compare the exact response fields and downstream handling rather than treating every output list as interchangeable.
  • Operations and procurement: Confirm privacy and retention terms, rate limits, unsuccessful-request billing, support, security requirements and enterprise purchasing conditions directly with each provider. The cited overview pages do not settle every account-specific term.
  • Cost at realistic volume: Estimate monthly requests using each service’s own accounting rules. Include retries, failures, output storage and any overages rather than comparing headline quotas alone.

Run a representative proof of concept

A short side-by-side trial is the useful way to determine which service works better for your pages. This is an evaluation method, not a claim that either provider has been tested here.

  1. Choose representative targets: static HTML, JavaScript-hydrated content, a long page, a page with a target element, and any page where fonts, overlays or access controls matter.
  2. Send equivalent inputs and align viewport, output format, timing or wait conditions, and requested fields as closely as the APIs allow.
  3. Inspect visual completeness, missing content, failure modes, returned asset handling and integration effort.
  4. Measure latency across repeated requests to understand the distribution for your workload. Do not compare one-off timings or treat a vendor’s published metric as a head-to-head result.
  5. Project total cost at expected volume using each provider’s current billing rules, then verify limits and terms on the live pricing pages.

Or skip the browser setup

ScreenshotNeo provides a single GET request for a screenshot or PDF. For example, this cURL request saves a WebP capture:

What the published performance figures establish

Microlink’s API page reports screenshot P95 of 2.8 seconds and a 99.9% SLA on paid plans. These are Microlink’s own claims, not independent measurements, and the reviewed Urlbox materials do not provide a comparable independent benchmark. They therefore cannot show which service is faster or more reliable for your particular pages.
