1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsChoose URLbox when you need a managed screenshot-rendering API; choose Browserless when screenshots are one part of a workflow that also needs broader hosted browser automation or direct browser access. Both document ways to capture pages, but the available official documentation does not establish a universal winner for image quality, speed, reliability, or cost. For a third option to evaluate first, ScreenshotNeo combines clean captures with billing that excludes failed or non-page results.
How URLbox and Browserless differ
The central distinction is the kind of interface your application needs. URLbox is presented as a managed rendering API, with render links and synchronous or asynchronous request patterns. Browserless offers a screenshot REST endpoint, but also documents a broader hosted browser automation platform with REST APIs and browser-protocol connections.
| Decision point | URLbox | Browserless |
|---|---|---|
| Basic screenshot request | Render links and synchronous or asynchronous POST requests are documented. URLbox product page | POST to the screenshot endpoint with a URL and Puppeteer-style options; a token is required. Browserless screenshot API documentation |
| Full-page or element capture | Documentation describes full-page screenshots, CSS-selector element captures, and stitch and native full-page modes. URLbox screenshots documentation | The cited screenshot documentation confirms the endpoint and browser-style options, but does not establish every equivalent feature or edge case. Check the current API reference for the exact option you need. Browserless screenshot API documentation |
| Beyond screenshots | The product page describes images, PDFs, video, and data extraction. URLbox product page | The REST overview lists screenshots, PDFs, scraping, downloads, browser functions, and unblocking, as well as WebSocket and browser-protocol access. Browserless REST API overview |
| Published price and limits | The pricing page lists plan prices, render allowances, request-per-minute limits, and plan-dependent features. URLbox pricing | The cited documentation pages do not state current plan prices or quotas. Verify both directly with Browserless before comparing total cost. |
These are differences in documented product scope, not evidence that one service produces better screenshots or performs faster. The sources do not provide a head-to-head benchmark.
Which service fits your screenshot workflow?
Choose URLbox for a managed render-request workflow
URLbox is a natural candidate if your application can express a job as a render request and you want documented options for full-page or selector-based capture. Its synchronous and asynchronous request patterns can also suit different application designs: a synchronous response for work that can wait on the request, or an asynchronous workflow when you want a job completed separately. URLbox documents webhook workflows on its product page. Confirm the precise request and response behavior against the current documentation before implementing it.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Choose Browserless when browser access is part of the requirement
Browserless is worth evaluating when a screenshot is only one step in a larger browser task, or when your application needs its wider REST offering or browser-protocol access. That broader platform scope does not, by itself, prove that a particular custom interaction is supported by the screenshot endpoint: verify whether your workflow should use that endpoint, another REST API, or a browser connection.
Put required capture details ahead of feature counts
Write down the exact job before choosing: page or element capture, full-page behavior, required image format, PDF or other outputs, whether browser interaction is needed, request timing, usage volume, and any operational limits. URLbox documents full-page stitch and native modes with accuracy and speed trade-offs; select based on the behavior your pages need rather than assuming either mode is universally preferable. Browserless accepts browser-style options, but confirm individual options and edge cases in its current reference.

Compare cost using current quotas and your workload
URLbox’s pricing page, accessed in 2026, lists the following examples. The page says prices exclude VAT; listed limits and features vary by plan. Recheck the live page before purchase because prices and allowances can change.
| URLbox plan | Published price | Published render allowance |
|---|---|---|
| Lo-Fi | $19/month | Up to 2,000 renders |
| Hi-Fi | $49/month | Up to 5,000 renders |
| Ultra | $99/month | Up to 15,000 renders |
| Business | $498/month | Not stated here; check the current pricing page |
| Enterprise | From $3,000/month | Not stated here; confirm terms with URLbox |
These are vendor-published prices and allowances, not a cost-per-successful-screenshot comparison. Browserless pricing and quotas are not established by the cited documentation, so there is no supported price-winner verdict here. Compare current plan terms, billing units, included usage, and expected monthly volume for both services. Include retries and the consequences of a failed or unusable capture in your estimate.

How to make a fair performance and reliability comparison
No independent head-to-head performance results are available in the cited sources. If response time or consistency matters to your use case, run your own representative trial rather than inferring a winner from feature lists or product descriptions.
- Select pages representative of your workload, including any that require full-page or element capture.
- Use equivalent output formats, viewport sizes, capture conditions, and timing requirements wherever both services support them.
- Run requests from the region and at the volume relevant to your production application, and record successful results, failures, and end-to-end latency.
- Check image output for the specific elements your application depends on, and record how each service handles the cases that matter to you.
- Compare the observed results with each service’s current plan limits and pricing before choosing.
A trial built around one page or one region will not establish performance for other pages, locations, or traffic levels. Treat findings as workload-specific.

ScreenshotNeo: an alternative to try first
ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server for developers. It is the first alternative to evaluate if you want clean captures, explicit billing outcomes, or an option for AI-agent workflows: it accepts cookie or consent banners and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; each step can be turned off. Bot checks and CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits cost nothing, and responses identify the page verdict and billing status in headers. Its MCP server provides take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf for Claude, Cursor, and other MCP clients.
One GET request returns an image or PDF. For example, this cURL request saves a WebP screenshot; replace the example target URL if needed. See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for parameters and response details.

Decision checklist
- Choose URLbox if a managed rendering request matches your application and its documented capture and request options meet your needs.
- Evaluate Browserless if you also need its broader browser automation services or browser-protocol access, and validate the exact screenshot options you rely on.
- Evaluate ScreenshotNeo first if removing consent banners and popups, identifying billable outcomes, or using an MCP server matters to your workflow.
- For price, speed, or reliability decisions, use current plan details and a representative workload; the available documentation does not establish a universal winner.
