1. Apple iPhone Duo: the clearest confirmed launch

Apple announced the iPhone Duo on September 9 as its first foldable iPhone. It has a 5.4-inch outer display, a 7.6-inch inner display, and Apple’s A20 Pro chip. Apple lists a U.S. starting price of $1,999 for 256GB. That is a U.S. price and should not be treated as the price in other countries.

What Apple says the foldable offers

Apple highlights Split View multitasking, a two-battery design, and an eSIM-only configuration worldwide. Those are manufacturer-stated features, not independent test findings. Apple also rates video playback at up to 31 hours using the inner display, up to 44 hours using the outer display, and up to 24 hours when both displays are used equally. These are Apple’s stated estimates under the specified display-use conditions, not a guarantee of an individual user’s battery life.

Apple lists U.S. prices of $79 for the iPhone Duo Case and $129 for the iPhone Duo Folio with Kickstand; orders for both are scheduled to begin October 16. These are accessory prices, not part of the phone’s starting price.

2. OnePlus 16: China date reported, overseas timing unclear

The sources do not include an official OnePlus announcement confirming that date, and describe international availability as later or uncertain. Treat October 12 as a reported plan rather than a confirmed sale date where you live.

Gizmochina reports claims including a 185Hz display and a high-end chipset; it describes the unusually large battery figure as leaked. These details are not confirmed by an official OnePlus source in the cited coverage, so they are not a dependable basis for choosing or comparing the phone yet. No reliable price is established there.

3. Oppo Find X10: separate the reported China debut from later availability

The roundups say the Find X10 family debuted in China in September and suggest late-October global or India availability. The cited sources do not establish an official Oppo announcement for that October international schedule. A China debut also does not establish when, or in which configuration, the phone will be sold elsewhere.

Coverage mentions high-resolution cameras and large batteries, but without an official source in this reporting set to verify exact configurations or regional versions. Wait for Oppo’s market-specific announcement before relying on a date, price, or specification for a purchase decision.

4. Vivo X Fold 6: a reported foldable launch, not a confirmed India date

The roundups describe the X Fold 6 as a foldable with large cover and inner displays and report an early-October India launch, including October 6. Smartprix’s October 1 update says vivo had not confirmed an India launch for this model. Accordingly, the date remains unconfirmed in the cited coverage.

5. Vivo V80: India launch reported for October 6

Smartprix reports that vivo officially confirmed an India launch for the V80 on October 6. That date is still in the future as of October 3. Gizmochina also lists October 6, but buyers should check vivo’s India announcement or local sales channels for the actual launch and availability status after that date.

Smartprix and Gizmochina list a 6.59-inch display, 7,200mAh battery, and 90W charging among the headline details. Treat specifications according to the attribution in those reports rather than as independently tested results. Leaked pricing should not be treated as an official retail price.

Which phone is worth waiting for?

Consider the iPhone Duo if you want a confirmed foldable schedule

It is the only model in this list with a manufacturer-announced price and rollout schedule in the cited sources. Its U.S. price is high, and availability depends on country; whether it makes sense for you also depends on the local price and your preference for a foldable iPhone.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Wait for an official Android announcement if market and price matter

The Android entries may be worth watching, but the dates, regional availability, and technical details in the cited coverage are not equally confirmed. OnePlus 16’s reported launch is China-specific, Oppo’s expected later availability is not confirmed as an official global or India schedule, and the Vivo foldable’s India date is explicitly unconfirmed by Smartprix. The V80 has a reported official India date, but check the manufacturer’s local information for final availability and pricing.

For any of the five, use the announced or reported market—not the model name alone—to judge whether waiting is practical. A China launch, India launch, and worldwide rollout are different events, and a listed specification or price may not carry over between regions.

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
