If you want a four-bay NAS with two 10GbE ports built in, the UGREEN NASync DXP4800 GT is the closest match in the available model information. Synology’s DS1525+ and DS1825+ offer five and eight bays, respectively, but ship with dual 2.5GbE and need an optional upgrade for faster Ethernet. The available evidence does not establish a current QNAP model for a fair, specification-level comparison, so this is not a three-way winner verdict.

How these NAS devices differ

The key distinction is not simply brand: it is whether you need four bays with dual 10GbE now, or more bays and a separate networking upgrade path. The UGREEN details below come from TechRadar’s June 8, 2026 review; Synology’s model and accessory details come from Synology product information and announcements. Manufacturer performance figures are identified as such, not treated as directly comparable test results.

Model Bays and built-in Ethernet Processor and memory Upgrade or distinction
UGREEN NASync DXP4800 GT 4 SATA bays; two 10GbE ports AMD Ryzen Embedded R2514; 8GB DDR4 Two M.2 slots; runs UGOS Pro. TechRadar’s review identifies it as the four-bay, dual-10GbE option.
UGREEN NASync DXP4800 Plus 4 SATA bays; one 10GbE and one 2.5GbE port Intel Pentium Gold 8505; 8GB DDR5 Two M.2 slots and a 128GB SSD, according to UGREEN’s official product page. It is a different model from the GT.
Synology DiskStation DS1525+ 5 bays; two built-in 2.5GbE ports Not stated in the cited Synology materials Can add 10GbE with the E10G22-T1-Mini module.
Synology DiskStation DS1825+ 8 bays; two built-in 2.5GbE ports Not stated in the cited Synology materials Supports compatible PCIe networking cards, including 10GbE and a 25GbE option.
QNAP Not stated; no specific model selected Not stated The available sources do not establish an official QNAP model specification adequate for comparison.

Do you need dual 10GbE out of the box?

Choose the DXP4800 GT if the built-in ports matter

The GT is the clearest fit when you have a 10GbE network and want two NAS-side 10GbE connections without first buying an add-on for the NAS. Its four SATA bays make it a smaller-bay proposition than either Synology alternative. TechRadar also reports two M.2 slots and UGOS Pro, but those details do not establish how a particular workload will perform.

Choose the DXP4800 Plus only if its different port mix suits you

UGREEN’s official listing for the DXP4800 Plus specifies one 10GbE port and one 2.5GbE port, not dual 10GbE. It also lists a Pentium Gold 8505 and 8GB DDR5 rather than the GT’s Ryzen Embedded R2514 and 8GB DDR4. Treat the GT and Plus as separate configurations; the Plus specifications cannot be used to fill in anything unreported about the GT.

TLS/SSL, RSA, AES, and SHA-512 help secure logins and data transfers, while Security Manager, and flexible permissions provide continuous protection. RAID support adds data redundancy to help reduce the risk of data loss and improve file recovery in the event of drive failure.

Choose a Synology if the extra bays and upgrade route fit better

The DS1525+ gives you five bays and a named 10GbE add-on, while the DS1825+ gives you eight bays and a PCIe card route that extends to a supported 25GbE option. Neither ships with dual 10GbE. Synology announced the DS1525+ in 2025; check current regional accessory compatibility before purchasing its module or a DS1825+ card.

What the published speed figures do—and do not—tell you

Synology publishes maximum read and write figures for these models, but they are manufacturer claims under specified test configurations, not a head-to-head benchmark against the DXP4800 GT.

Model Published figure Attribution and qualification
DS1525+ Up to 1,181 MB/s read and 1,180 MB/s write Synology’s 2025 announcement; the figures are stated using SSDs.
DS1825+ Up to 2,239 MB/s read and 1,573 MB/s write Synology’s product specification; these are manufacturer figures, not independent comparative results.

Port speed alone does not predict a copy speed. In particular, TechRadar’s DXP4800 GT review initially tested over a 2.5GbE network, so that test setup does not demonstrate the GT’s performance over a complete 10GbE connection. The retrieved figures do not support ranking the models by real-world transfer speed.

Budget for the drives and the whole network path

Include the storage you plan to install

NAS units are only part of the storage budget if you still need drives. TechRadar’s DXP4800 GT review configuration used four 4TB Seagate IronWolf hard drives and two 1TB SSDs. That describes the reviewer’s setup; it is not a required or universal recommended configuration. Work out your capacity and redundancy needs, then check the live compatibility information for the NAS and drives you intend to use.

Check every link in the Ethernet chain

A NAS port does not make the rest of a network 10GbE. Before paying for higher-speed ports or an upgrade card, check the client computer’s network adapter and the intervening switch or other network equipment. The model information here establishes NAS-side interfaces and upgrade options, not a universally compatible network kit.

Compare total setup cost, not just NAS bay count

For the Synology choices, include the price and availability of the relevant module or card. For any option, include drives and any network components you lack. Prices and stock vary by region and time, and the available information does not provide a like-for-like current total-cost comparison.

How to decide between these options

  1. Set your usable-capacity target. Decide how many drive bays you need now and whether the five-bay or eight-bay Synology models better match your planned storage growth than a four-bay unit.
  2. Check your actual network need. If dual NAS-side 10GbE is essential from the start, the DXP4800 GT is the closest match here. If 2.5GbE is sufficient initially or you prefer to add networking, compare the Synology upgrade routes.
  3. Verify the client and network equipment. Confirm that the computer, switch and other links can use the intended speed; otherwise, an upgraded NAS port may not improve transfers.
  4. Match the exact model and accessory. Do not substitute DXP4800 Plus specifications for the GT, or assume a Synology accessory fits without confirming compatibility for your model and region.
  5. Check software and workload needs. Decide which NAS operating environment and applications suit your backup, sharing and management tasks. The specifications cited here do not provide a comparable software-feature or maturity assessment.
  6. Price the complete system. Compare the NAS, drives, networking upgrades and any missing network equipment using current local prices, rather than treating an empty or differently configured unit as the total cost.

Where QNAP fits in this comparison

There is not enough sourced model information here to name a QNAP NAS as a fair equivalent or to compare its bays, Ethernet ports, processor, memory, expansion, storage support or software features. That is not evidence that QNAP lacks a suitable product; it means a specific current model and official specifications need to be verified before making a model-level claim. A buyer considering QNAP should compare an identified unit against the same criteria used above rather than relying on a brand-level 10GbE label.
