What changes when choosing a vehicle?
Transport Fever 3’s overhauled purchase menu puts several practical attributes into comparison mode alongside technical specifications: loading speed, comfort, noise, and pollution. This makes it easier to see that the newest model is not automatically the best fit for every route. An older vehicle may remain useful when its strengths better match the line’s needs.
Urban Games does not list every technical specification in the feature description or explain how the attributes are weighted. Treat the comparison as a way to make trade-offs visible, not as a universal ranking that identifies one best vehicle for every service.
How the Line Manager changes line and fleet work
Urban Games describes the Line Manager as the game’s central control hub. In Transport Fever 3, its redesigned window is paired with direct interaction in the game world, so you can select and edit lines, stations, and vehicles without relying solely on management windows and map switching.

The stated purpose is to prevent deadlocks when trains enter a multi-stop single-track section from opposite directions. Urban Games says the change still allows prior configurations and additional layouts, and that signals are consistently required wherever trains are meant to pass each other. This description concerns the reservation behavior and deadlock case above; it does not establish that every aspect of train pathfinding has changed.
How large is Transport Fever 3’s vehicle roster?
Urban Games’ editions page advertises more than 300 vehicles. That is the later figure on the official editions page, accessed October 3, 2026. An earlier vehicle-trailer announcement from October 29, 2025 described a roster of over 270 models and introduced helicopters and cargo trams as first-time additions to the series; helicopters can carry passengers or freight.
