Trainwatch is scheduled to launch for PC via Steam on March 10, 2027. The time-management mystery adventure is being developed by Harvester Games and published by 11 bit studios, according to the companies’ announcement reported by Gematsu on October 8, 2026.
What kind of game is Trainwatch?
Trainwatch follows Troy, a new gatekeeper assigned to a railway crossing in a remote, fogbound setting. The game’s announcement describes a routine built around learning the train timetable and raising or lowering the crossing gate, while also managing Troy’s hunger, sleep, cleanliness, and sobriety.

The story unfolds over a month, and the announcement says players will not be able to follow every lead or keep every promise. These details describe the developers’ intended gameplay, not hands-on evaluation.
What horror should players expect?
Solo developer Rem Michalski describes the game’s horror as psychological rather than focused on explicit violence or jump scares. In the announcement, Michalski said: “Trainwatch might be the most mechanics-heavy of my games, but the gist of psychological horror is still very much there, and underlies everything. It’s a more nuanced kind of horror than explicit violence and jump scares. It’s about an unsettling experience, a claustrophobic setting, and internal, human traumas.”
